Experience a taste of Africa in downtown Hamilton, Ontario. The WASS Ethiopian Restaurant offers meals for vegetarians and meat lovers alike.
A unique eating experience. Textures and flavours unique to Ethiopia. No eating utensils required! Just tear off some injera bread and grab the various culinary delights. From classic meat and veggie Ethiopian strews to Shiro Wat (chick peas in Garlicky Berber sauce) or combo platters, the range and choice of spiciness is excellent. There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too and the honey wine is delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable, the staff are friendly and our whole dinners group had a great time.

We went to the Purple Pear, for the first time, for a Valentine's dinner. We ran into our son and his wife doing the same!We were delighted by this restaurant - the food, the service and the general ambience, which is old school in the best way - white linen tablecloths and napkins and nice, heavy cutlery. We started with juicy, succulent escargots in butter and garlic and plump mussels marinara. For the main, I ordered a seafood linguini and it was packed with clams and mussels in their shells, calamari, shrimp and crab. It was absolutely delicious and and the portion was so generous that I had the leftovers for lunch. My husband had the tasty pork tenderloin with fettuccini alfredo and again, he had enough for a meal the next day. The service was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.Purple Pear offers excellent value for money and the wine list is reasonably priced, as well. We'll be back.

Family run Diner with an emphasis on home cooking. Everything now made in house, from scratch. Comfort food at it's finest!
California eggs Benedict was good. Home fries were average. The all abroad breakfast was great and worth it. The scramble eggs and sausage were really good. The waitress was alone and really busy but was still friendly and great. The overall atmosphere was small but was cute. One big complaint was that the bathrooms were dirty. Would go back.

radius Hamilton offers handcrafted cocktails and chef prepared dishes served in beautiful spaces that date back to Hamilton circa 1874, with original 16 foot tin ceilings.
Beautiful place. Amazing food. Lots of food. Clean. Fantastic staff. We went on a Monday so it was fairly quiet but the staff were fantastically attentive. The food tasted amazing. Highly recommend the melon and prosciutto and the Huli Huli Chicken. Although the price is a little higher, the taste of food and amount of food is 0 worth it. Will definitely return.

Wonderful historic grand house - it is said tat Al Capone ran liqueur here back in the day! On the waterfront of Lake Ontario east of Hamilton. Good place for a romantic lunch or dinner. Good place for a wedding. Good outside space for ceremony by water.

My wife has been here several time for business lunches and couldnât speak highly enough about it. We finally made it for our anniversary and BN didnât disappoint. We shared 5 dishes between us. 9yr old ordered the shrimp tempura (he orders a 2nd plate as well) and the fresh pasta. The tempura was wonderfully light. The fresh pasta would make a delicious dinner on its own. Truffle butter was a perfect compliment to the fresh pasta. My wife ordered the teriyaki eggplant. The eggplant is brined for 24hrs, battered and deep fried. Never been an eggplant fan but this is a dish I will order again. The thin sliced chiliâs added a perfect amount of heat and the peanuts a lovely crunch. Found the teriyaki sauce to be a bit heavy-handed but as a shared dish it was manageable. May be a bit much as a single dish. I ordered the ribeye. Ordered it med-rare but it came out between blue and rare. The ribeye was such a beautiful cut that it was like eating tartar. Well season and was quite enjoyable although rarer than preferred. Absolutely wonderful dinner and ambience. Staff were wonderful. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.
