It is the largest town in and seat of Northumberland County. Its nearest neighbour is Port Hope, 7 km (4 mi) to the west. It is located along Highway 401 (exits 472 and 474) and the former Highway 2 (now Northumberland County Road 2). To the south, Cobourg borders Lake Ontario. Five Star is clean, bright and friendly. The family are welcoming and accommodating, and especially careful dealing with allergies. Very good value across a very broad selection of North American-Chinese dishes. There are tables and chairs for about 20 to dine in, but most business is take-out.

We have taken food out several times. Five times they were great. Last two times, (yes we gave them a second chance) they were terrible. Honey garlic ribs in water instead of honey garlic sauce??? OMG. Terrible. We threw it out. Where is the quality control.

The always freshly prepared menu items are quite minimal in choice but always good. Nothing waits around in the serving dishes because the kitchen is smart. Quick turnover, special combo plates their strength, and fresh preparation in small batches, middle of the road popular dishes to choose from buffet-style. There is a much more extensive menu to order from but this is done individually and takes a bit of time. But once again the food is very good and service the same.

I love this restaurant! The food is always fresh, delicious, and wonderfully presented. Last visit was for take-out, and I had the teryaki chicken and rice, which comes with miso and a small salad. Fantastic as always! I will be back again soon!

Dropped in after lunch, before dinner so perhaps did not get the full flavour of this restaurant. The miso soup was excellent and the spring rolls were very good. The service was not that great, however considering the time, it was fine. The food was good and that was the most important.
