Was excited for this sushi with how excellent other reviews were of this place. The decor is nice. Our table was a booth and it was intimate. We ordered calamari, chicken cutlet, some sashimi and two rolls. The calamari was so overly breaded and flavourless. The chicken cutlet tasted boiled and the breading came right off. We got some chef special fish balls and they were so fishy we regret eating them. The rolls were okay and the sashimi was alright. We went on a night that they were out of all dessert. For an a la carte sushi restaurant, the quality was more AYCE quality, but was really expensive. Would recommend other sushi places over this.

increase the price in March 2017 but food is really good. it is bit expensive for lunch, over all, fine dinning and taste well maintained. I would recommend for dinner only lunch is way too expensive.

We were there for dinner recently. The service was attentive and friendly, if not a little awkward. The sushi was beautifully presented and substantial. The food was of higher quality than some of the the all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants we've gone to and the bill for our food wasn't much higher than what we pay at the all-you-can-eat places. In other words, we had more than enough food at Ume for almost the same price. It is well worth it. We've also ordered take-out and we really enjoyed it.

We had gone to Sushi Date after reading multiple reviews... we were hesitant but gave them the benefit of the doubt. We should have listened to our gut and not gone. Total waste of $26 each. We really enjoy sushi and have eaten it in many places.... letâs start with the server ..... zero English, zero patience for questions about the food and zero desire to do her job. Drinks were not refilled, napkins were not replaced and the food was brought out a flung onto the table as she passed by. We had asked if they had gluten free soy sauce and without skipping a beat she blurts out No and that was that. After our first couple of dishes were completed we asked or another menu to order off of, she basically rolled her eyes and grabbed one for us.Okay, the food.....The sashimi had maybe 9 options, one being fake crab meat.... none of it was fresh except for the salmon. Some still had some skin on it that was chewy. The spicy salmon rolls were 95% panko with a sprinkle of salmon. Zero taste and very oily. Teppanyaki was all breaded and fried... weird, cause we thought it would have been more of a stir fried type prep. The rice under it was so sticky it wouldnât break apart. We ordered 1 salad just to try and have something fresh .... the salad was literally swimming in an unknown dressing. When asked what kind it was, no one could speak English well enough to tell us.Needless to say, we left an all you can eat restaurant still hungry.
