Things to do in Strathroy

The Strathroy Ale House and Pub is located on the main floor of the Inn Building in downtown Strathroy. The Pub offers a wide selection of tasty pub fare and a friendly atmosphere. Always a Daily Special - the nicest patio in Strathroy!
We re-visited the Clock Tower and weâre not disappointed. I would have rated a five except that on a hot sticky evening the air conditioning couldnât keep up and it was getting into the uncomfortable range for temperature and humidity. However, the food was excellent. All four of us chose a different meal and everyone was very pleased with it. The charcuterie plate was great and the pate was one of the best I have tasted. The roasted red pepper soup had a great flavour and we all enjoyed our entrees. I love that they locally source a lot of the food and the vegetables were fresh and beautifully prepared. We have eaten here before as we live in London and its well worth the drive. We will be back.Thank you Maggiec894 for the great review.Sorry for the warm conditions its hard to keep this old building cool when its hot and humid out.We hope to see you again soon.CheersChef Mark
Where to eat Bar food in Strathroy: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Met up with some friends for a good old visit as they'd been here before and highly recommended it. They did mention to 'come in from the back' but having never been here before, we didn't fully understand. This restaurant is in a deserted mall which was confusing to us but we soldiered on and found it - but came in from the front entrance. Just a few people sitting in the bar area in what looked like very comfy booths with tasty food. We looked for our friends but didn't see them and when we mentioned to the host/hostess, we were immediately ushered to a 'back' room which was filled with people of all ages, happily engaged in conversation, tables filled with drinks and what looked like yummy food....and found our friends! They had come in the 'back' way, as apparently did the rest of the room! Immediately attended to by a very happy server (Adam?..he's related to the owner) and he was just superb. Nothing too difficult for him! We ordered a plate of nachos for the table and they were some of the best we've tried. Cheese ALL the way thru not just enough on the top to fool you. 2 containers of sour cheese and 2 containers of salsa so we didn't have to ask for 'extras.' Side orders of wings - honey garlic and spicy, were BIG and really flavorful! The burgers were delicious - substantial patties in a tasty bun accompanied by crispy hot fries. The pear salad had a bit too much sweet dressing so next time I would ask for the dressing on the side otherwise it was filled with lots of pears and candied pecans. Children's servings of pizza - done perfectly for little hands, and mac and cheese for the picky - was easily managed and enjoyed. Good selection of wine and beer and soft drinks at an affordable price. This is just a wonderful restaurant serving really good food with super friendly service!

Looked forward to visiting and were hoping to find a new 'go to pub' close to home. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Service was good but food and ambience lacking. Place was cold and could have used a good cleaning. Beer was ok but they were out of red wine. Who runs it of wine ?! Menu did not resemble what was on line as we were looking forward to beef brisket and and the portobello and cashew cheese sandwich. Both not available. Hubbys burgers was quite good. My Turkey club was cold and dry. Also don't expect kettle chips to be warm as they are simply potatoe chips. If you're a beer lover I'm sure it's worth a try but I wouldn't recommend going if food is your priority.
