Went here for fathers day always love the food here no matter what we order. Hubby had the Curried chicken Boxty. HUGE plate...and sauce was excellent. Potato crepe was very good! Our son had the Steak and Guiness Pie (recommended earlier by his sister who said the sauce was the best!....she would take a bath in it!) I had the Mushroom Peppercorn Chicken. It was divine.... I had a side delicious garden salad instead of rice. It was divine and I would have loved a small bowl of the delicious sauce for dessert! Lol

The Forty Public House is a new take on an old community Pub. We work hard and play even harder. The Forty is a place to gather with friends and family to finish off a hard day properly. We look forward to serving you. #Seeyouattheforty
Went on a Friday night with two friends from out of town. Was prime time (6:30) for dinner but we were seated at the bar with a wait time of 20-25 min. Funky and friendly bartender hooked us up with a pint and a couple of cool whiskey drinks and within 10 minutes we had a table. With so many great sounding choices on the large menu it was tough to choose so we asked our trusty barkeep (now also our waiter) for help. We knew we had to have the cauliflower wings and he suggested the jerk chicken Rangoon for starters. SO GOOD! Cauliflower was very lightly breaded with a great flavour of honey hot and the crispy wontons stuffed with cheese and chicken were perfect with the orange dipping sauce. Both friends chose the Woodcutter burger and I opted for the 40 Creek BBQ chicken tacos. The burgers were huge with fresh toppings and a bun that didnât overpower all that chuck and accompanying goodness! One friend had to take an eating time-out but was sure not leaving any on her plate! The tacos were also quite substantial and the grilled coleslaw mix was a nice addition, although my preference would be to have it uncooked to have that extra crunch. The chicken had more smoke flavour than I expected but it did say BBQ. The decor has also been greatly improved since I was last in the building, at the former establishment, which was always too dark and dingy feeling. The Forty House definitely feels like a pub, but one that welcomes modern rock (Glorious Sons anyone??) as much as Celtic classics (Pogues!). And they also have live music!! So excited to hopefully see some of my favourites there soon! (97.7 HITZ FM ROCKS!)

Stopped in and ordered the daily special of the burger topped with prime rib, sautéed onions, melted cheese with a horseradish sauce. Very good. The fries were crunchy and fresh. Not much of a beer selection so went with draft Labattâs which went well with meal.
