The town had a population of 5,194 year-round residents in the Canada 2011 Census, as well as summer residents sometimes referred to as "Islanders" because of the Thousand Islands in the Saint Lawrence River, Gananoque's most important tourist attraction. The Gananoque River flows through the town and the St. Lawrence River serves as the southern boundary of the town.

Have been here a few times over the years, while passing through. Always enjoy their homemade soups and fresh, plated lunch offerings. Whenever weâre there though, the meal seems to take inordinately long to arrive, regardless of time of day/week/year, with or without several tables on the go. Hence the âaverageâ rating. But if youâre not in a hurry and want to enjoy a good plate at a reasonable price, this place works.

We ate here twice....for a lunch and for a dinner. The kale salads were fresh and varied. Had a pulled pork sandwich another time with salad....all delicious. The outside patio is above the street level in front but accessed by a ramp on the side alley way. Industrial feel to the outside. There was a large selection of Eastern Ontario beers and ciders and Matthew, our server, was able to personally speak about and recommend various types. A nice place to relax outside while enjoying our meal.

Where do I start. Only 5 ppl total in the place, so no reason for our server Tara to be slow.Ordered drinks, Coffee great. Hubby asked for second one 10 min in, and it took her over 10 min, because she forgot; again, not busy.Ordered starters of ribs and Peruvian potato salad; and mains of chorizo and shrimp on cheesy homeny and a burrito.Everything arrived but ribs, so starters were not served separately. "Ribs will be 5 min". 30 MINUTES LATER.... she blamed the kitchen.Burrito was on Naan bread and the Lebanese chicken in it was gut renching hot, hubby could not finish due to spice. Potato salad was awesome, but freaking spicy. No where on this menu did it state it was spicy, for anything.My homeny dish was very good, and spicy. Ribs, were pure rubbish. Tough and chewy!! And they are spouting it being a bbq place. My Costco ribs are far superior!We try again for brunch, but NEVER for dinner. Save your money and go to Rivas!
