This restaurant has a great patio. I liked the homemade fries.Unfortunately we weren't able to order any beer on tap. Waitress was nice but overworked . It was s busy place & she seemed to be doing it all. It's very dark inside the restaurant. This really cool, old building is a gem,& would be super cool with an interior makeover - restoring it to a more unique and original state.

We have dined here on a number of occasions over the last decade and always found the good and service good. I don't know what's happened here lately but our last 3 visits over the last two months were brutal. The service was neglectful at best. First time my son and I were there and after being seated was told that food service may be up to an hour wait because they was a large crowd present. Really? Then why have so manyvtables for patrons if you can't serve them within a reasonable time? We ordered drinks and decided to wait and they took almost 20 minutes to arrive. The next visit we were four. Seated on the patio where we didn't see a waitress for almost 30 minutes despite stepping inside and having to ask for service. Drink order taken but waitress didn't ever bring any menus even after another 20 minute wait for the drinks to arrive. An adjacent table was seated alreafy when we arrived and they had to ask us to see the menus we were using. It took almost 40 minutes for our meals to arrive and two of the four were not even correct; however we had been waiting so long we took what we could get. Given the wait some of the meals were fine except that we had to retrieve our own cutlery by visiting the bar and our condiments and one side dish never did arrive. After just over two hours on the patio, now in darkness, we called it a night and left half of some of the meals that were ordered. We will be hard pressed to attempt another visit any time soon. Service is key but not here...maybe once upon a time but not anymore.

A good impression right from the start, with good food smells right as you walk in. The sesame chicken Thai fry was very good; spicy with nice levels of flavour for the good-sized pieces of chicken and very fresh vegetables. The chicken tetrazzini was also very good, with al dente pasta and fresh tomatoes, mushrooms and onions in a tasty home-made sauce. The burgers had home-made patties of fresh, nicely-seasoned meat and crisp topping on a fresh, soft bun and hot-from-the kitchen fries. The spicy sausage penne in tomato sauce could have been a bit more spicy; it was a little bland but nothing a little additional hot sauce or salt couldn't fix - an easy remedy. The "Big Wings" were indeed larger than many pub wings, so perhaps that's why there were fewer than expected per pound, but were good. The service was very good; friendly, attentive, efficient and very helpful and honest on menu choices. Good value, especially if you opt for one of the daily specials.
