We've eaten at Stone Ridge many times and after a two year lapse looked forward to returning for an enjoyable dinner and evening out with friends. The wait staff consisted of one poor girl who was so unorganized she made five trips to and from the kitchen to deliver four drinks to our table. On not one but three separate occasions two of our party requested a glass to pour their cans of beer, but the glasses never appeared. The choice of entrees was lacklustre at best and after a long wait arrived lukewarm. All in all a very disappointing evening.
We have gone to many Subways and are always surprised how the quality of the food changes by location. Seems to be no consistency in this 'franchise' Last time to Elliot Lake subway had the impression we were imposing on the staff member, so other places serve with a smile - that is where we go now.

Attended a private, catered event, planned in advance. One would think the venue would have been properly prepared with efficient staff, safe & tasty food. That was not the case. One employee was (as per another in-charge-ish employee) to go around taking drink orders. Employee A spent over 15 minutes jabbering with a guest while telling Employee B that she *was* taking drink orders. She finally did take exactly 2 orders, went over to the bar side & then spent 10 more minutes preparing just those 2 orders, 1 of which was simply opening a bottle of beer, the other was a basic ice/shot/mixer drink. Guests started going directly to the bar themselves, where Employee B was shocked that no one had been served. Went to the bar for another drink, took the used glass back to the bar as there was no obvious âleave your empties hereâ table/tray. Employee A (from above) proceeds to grab the obviously used glass (my lipstick was on the rim, ice & watered-down drink still in it) & immediately pour the next drink into the SAME GLASS. Didnât even dump the ice/water out, just poured a shot, scooped in more ice, topped it with soda & handed it back to me. Glad I hadnât brought someone elseâs used glass back. One of the items served on the buffet-style menu was chicken leg/thigh quarters. One person after another cut into theirs to find it severely undercookedâso undercooked that there was absolutely no question, no âmaybeâ it was undercooked. Unsafe. Gross. Unacceptable. Employee B did come out to say that more chicken was cooking & that it would be completely cooked this time, but after being served near-raw chicken, who wants to take a chance on another piece?Coffee was offered later. One guest asked that Baileyâs Irish Cream liqueur be added to his. No problem, until it came back. He looked, stirred, looked again & asked Employee A (again) about the Baileyâs as it didnât appear to have any in it. She proceeded to tell him that it was in there, âit was the clear kindâ. The clear kind. Of a CREAM liqueur. Umm, no.So many issues, from almost funny (seriously, clear Baileyâs?) up to potentially dangerous. Just nope.

Went to Putter's this past Saturday for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised with the menu selections and how tasty the food was. We were told that summer of 2015 the restaurant had served lunch only but that the restaurant was now(2016) under new management with a new chef and served both lunch and dinner. My husband had the stuffed chicken which was very good and was the risotto and green beans that accompanied it. I had the salmon which was excellent with a nice, light maple flavor. The pricing was good for the serving size and the quality of the food. Will definitely be returning to Putter's Restaurant.Hello, thank you so much for your review, we are glad you enjoyed dinner and hope to see you again soon!

Looking for great soup, sandwich and coffee? Skip the popular Canadian chains and head on down to Mum's Place. Located on the edge of downtown Elliot Lake with plenty of parking out front, Mum's is an inviting little restaurant characterized by a homey, small town vibe. When I was there, a few of what appeared to be the local regular patrons were having coffee while watching a TV perched high on the wall. I ordered the soup / sandwich special which was tastefully prepared and promptly served. Presently open daytime, 8am - 3pm, Tuesday through Saturday.

Originally went when they were both variety store and small restaurant. With the fantastic renovations making a lovely and cozy atmosphere, we tried it out many times, the last being just before we moved. The food we chose was delicious and the portions were generous.

Funny, this is located across the street from a now closed KFC. We found this place as basically, one of the only open restaurants on a Saturday Night in Elliot Lake. So glad we did. Prime Rib Special that was perfect, I'm pretty fussy and this was really good. A stuffed pasta dish, it was really tortellini, but the sauce was spot on, very plentiful and good. The only thing better then the food was the service. Seriously attentive without being over bearing. Good Stuff.. Thank youthanks for dining with us and the review. Myself and staff work hard at all levels of the Restaurant and i am glad we impressed you.... Andrew
