Though it is a Little bit out of town, take bus to Mirani, this is a good priced and good quality atmosferic hotel Ryokan style, and with free use of next door situated bath house. I did not try it, but you can order dinner to your room. Looked delicious.

We stayed one night in this traditional ryokan whilst on a cycling trip. We had a room overlooking the habour with tatami mats and futons and used the communal bath house in the evening. The highlight of our visit was a fabulous 6 course traditional meal in our own private dining room, the food was exquisite and the service fabulous.

Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Nice onsen, though a bit on the small side. Massage chair in room (didn’t try it.) comfy bed. Cons: Price was cheap but still a bit high for a room with no private toilet. Also windows are permanently locked and you can’t see out of them. Overall the room felt austere and not very well soundproofed.

We stayed one night in mid-summer 2017. Pro: - Water quality of this ryokan is super. Your skin will be like a velvet after the bath. - Room was spacious Con: - bring your own mosquitocide. Lots of mosquitos attack you in a second. - bring your own snack. There is nothing near around. No cafe/restaurant/convenient store in walking distance -bring your own water. There is no vending machine inside the facility nor around the ryokan. - No wifi in a room, meal was mediocre, cleaning status was not good. Conclusion: overrated. If you are hermit-like traveler, you may like this place. But if you are hermit-like traveler, you would not want to spend over $200 for one night with this.

From the moment we arrived in the morning to leave our luggage and were welcomed into our room with a hot kettle, we knew we were going to enjoy our stay. Our room was a large typical Japanese style, with a seating area and own toilet/sink area. Everyone was very friendly, and eager to please. Great onsen bath area and 'relaxation' room popular with locals, as was traditional food. Very easy to find from The Shin-Onomichi station, take a bus from bay 2 (don't listen the info lady if she tells you 3). Tell the driver, and when he drops you, double back to the main crossroads where there is a huge sign with directions for Yourou. Weirdly, there is no 'English' wording on the Onsen, but it's just past a huge supermarket on the opposite side of the road. Restaurants around too.
