Onekama (/oʊˈnɛkəmə/ oh-NEK-ə-mə) is a village in Manistee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 411 at the 2010 census. The village is located on the shores of Portage Lake and is surrounded by Onekama Township. The town's name is derived from "Ona-ga-maa," an Anishinaabe word which means "singing water." Some local business people have produced sweatshirts, T-shirts, and bumper stickers with the symbols "1," (pronounced 'ONE comma'), a common mispronunciation.

Went here on a Monday night in August. We didn't have reservations, so we couldn't sit on the porch (where the best view is), but they easily accommodated us . Food is delicious! Service is perfect! We had calamari, lamb chops, and filet mignon. Next time I go back, I'll save more room for dessert!

Friendly service. Good ice cream. Reasonable prices. They also offer food like hot dogs, burgers, etc. Can't beat the location- especially when it is a Music in the Park night. Nothing fancy, but a good solid family run place. Open seasonally.

Located on Portage Lake in Onekama, MI, the M22 Grill is located on one of the primary scenic highways traversing Lake Michigan's coastline. Depending on your direction of travel, it's a great place to stop for breakfast or dinner, with beautiful views of Portage Lake, which connects directly with Lake Michigan. The food is simple and inexpensive, the staff is friendly, and the decor is clearly related to auto industry of the past. There are framed images of old cars, license plates, gas station signs, etc. which, for me, brought back a lot of memories. If you're heading to this part of America, take your time and enjoy the view.

Older bar that has an older clientele and slightly better than average food. The pizza here is about the best you will do in the county. If you want a truly out of body experience, walk in during Polka night. Not very clean and the bathroom is downright scary...but if you order take out all is well.

Very small coffee shop, friendly service. Owner/operator makes everything. Small selection of panini, breakfast sandwiches and salads. Nicely decorated. Gives you a custom feel of a speciality store in the big city.
Almost too nice for Onekama as there isn't enough year round demand in the town for this level of service. Definitely caters to tourist crowd instead of the local regulars. Most locals go to m22 grill just down the road as this spot is a bit pricier.

Little local dive bar/ restaurant, Fridays are fish nite...Cod (Bites) 9.99...salad bar (included soup and small desert) and fries...Shrimp 14.99 same accompanying sides. Both were good. Had left overs to take home, was plenty of food, came hot, but slow. Ro was our server. Place was busy, girls were really hopping!!! Kitchen needed help, and no bus person, so again girls hustled. Beer was cold, 4 on tap. Pool table music playing, I think juke box, not overly loud. Probably would come again when in the area.

We are a family owned restaurant that opened in 2015 as a pizzeria. We have since grown into a full service restaurant with Lunch & Dinner. We have a beautiful new dining room, and we also have outside seating on our deck that is next to our creek. We pride ourselves in customer service and making sure every customer leaves happy. We have an All You Can Eat Breakfast Buffet on Saturday & Sundays from 8 am- 12, and we also offer salad bar Fridays from 4-9 and Saturday & Sundays from 12 noon-9 pm
Very nice decor and very friendly attentive staff. I would not try the buffet since on a Saturday evening in June there were only two dine-in parties so pizza will sit there a long time. Maybe a better idea when it is crowded. Buffet seemed very pricey to me for the quality of the food - especially the salad.
The food. The pizza was fine. I had a roast beef sub which was a large portion - white roll and cheese, lettuce, tomato and some lunch meat - nothing special and I would not order it again . The salad is just shredded iceberg lettuce and some cheese so not much there. The water tasted fine but had that sulfur smell that well water can often have, not very appetizing.
While nothing was bad, nothing was great except the friendliness of the staff. I might go for carryout pizza but would not dine in again or order a sub.
