The colors and flavors of the Mediterranean come to life at Mediterraneo, located on the exclusive Greenwich Avenue in the heart of Greenwich, Connecticut. Bathed in the soothing tones of sand and sea, the restaurant features an inviting outdoor terrace and a contemporary dining room where soft, undulating lines mirror ocean waves. This elegant nautical theme is carried over to the menu, which highlights fresh, succulent seafood as well as elevated Italian favorites
We all went for a family dinner for a Christmas lunch the day after.
I had the lentil soup and chicken Milanese which was very good.
Kathy had a Caesar salad and the ravioli with mushrooms. It was outstanding.
Andrew had the Bronzino which he said was great.
Brian and Chris had the chicken Milanese as well.
Good service.

Excellent bagels and fast service make this a winner! Has all varieties and then some. Great service by the staff who are under pressure. Can get very busy particularly at weekends with a line that goes outside the door. Sometimes you need to be patient but it's worth the wait! Also does catering.

Being one-hundred percent Italian you can find it hard to dine out for Italian food. Like most Italian/Americans we know the true authenticity of our ancestor cuisine. You can't fool our palette. Café Silvium is like visiting your grandmother's kitchen. The food is authentic and delicious, so bring your appetite. You cannot make reservations so get there early so your not waiting for a table.

Valbella, which since 1992 has been a celebratory place and a regular haunt for the locals who pack it most nights of the week both for its sumptuous food and its astonishing wine cellar, containing 1,450 selections and 16,000 bottles.
Downstairs in the wine cellar is where many people hold private parties of various sizes, and what a splendidly beautiful room it is, done in polished wood, with a lovely fireplace, the tables impeccably set, the stemware thin, the temperature geared to the maintenance of the wine.
Also an outstanding feature of the wine cellar is a heated granite table that can accommodate up to sixteen guests.
Have been to both the Riverside and NYC spots several times over the years. Riverside (Greenwich) starts off with the live reservation process--which is gruff. From a business standpoint--the bar seats maybe 5-7 people at best--very cramped for a business dinner--Bartender is old school and terrific.
Guests brought a special bottle of wine(1st growth Bordeaux) and were told --no corkage fee and not allowed. Their wine list is extensive and 3X of reality. Service was good not great--seating in wine cellar for dinner is a treat and a highlight. The food is good but not great as their parallel prices which again, are artificially high.

We have eaten a number of times at the Poodle's sister restaurant, The Penguin, and like it very much. So we came here with reasonably high expectations...and we were not disappointed. We ate outside and when the weather began to change we were graciously offered an inside table. We had excellent appetizers and then different fish four entree. Everything was well prepared and the waiters were well informed and professional. All in all, a good and high quality relative of the Penguin!

First visit. Found it just by looking for "different" restaurants in the Stamford/Greenwich area. Very glad to have chosen this one.
Portions are small but quite delicious and satisfying. Good cubano sandwiches, tasty empanadas, good burritos and fairly good arroz con pollo (a bit scarce on the pollo). Prices reasonable. Very nice ambiance but with tables too close together. Clean restrooms (always a sign of civility). Staff could be more pleasant. Will certainly come again given opportunity.

Pomodoro Pizzeria & Trattoria boasts a creative, extensive menu of over 200 high quality items in classic & progressive Italian cuisine, not to mention authentic brick oven pizza.
Found this gem in a strip mall on the Post Rd. just up from the Greenwich Regency Hyatt where we were staying. Ended up eating there three times during our one week stay. The food was amazing every time. Try the Bragoli special and the stuffed pasta with Oso Buco Ragu and finish with a great Cannoli! Love this place!

I love the interior courtyard, but the ambiance is better than the food. Nice environs for events, pictures, low key visit with family. Just be ready for overpriced, under value fare. But, the atmosphere is worth the sacrifice. Great location and convenient to both Greenwich and Stamford.

We wanted something a little different than our usual places, and Applausi satisfied us quite well. The service is attentive, and our dishes were well prepared. Where so many restaurants can be deafeningly loud, Applausi is pleasantly quiet, so a perfect place for a romantic...MoreHi Jake, Thank you for the great review! It's when something good happens even thought it wasn't planned, like what happened when Christopher Columbus thought he was sailing to India. So back to Columbus Park. We tried getting into what is now listed as the best restaurant in Stamford but didn't want to...MoreThank you so much, we are so glad you enjoyed all the food and service!! Come back soon!!
