Reviewed By 410LolloReally really satisfied with our stay here. Calm, lovely sourroundings and friendly staff. Small with few rooms give a family touch to it. Cold breakfast - could eggs, bread and butter, cold cuts such as cheese ham etc and yoghurt with cereals = selection was good. I recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Öland, with car or by bike.

Well placed in the middle of town, all facilities are close by and it is a good place to be based in Öland. Car parking in on street around the corner (20 meters).

A warm friendly welcome into the Villa Ingrid. Visitors to Öland will find a nice and cosy guest residence here, peacefully situated yet only a few minutes stroll away from the restaurants, the marina, the beaches and everything else that Borgholm can offer. The house, which was built at the beginning of the 1930s, holds 18 rooms with 1 to 4 beds and a family apartment with 5 beds. 13 of the rooms have ensuite facilities with showers/WC. All rooms have TV. Residents have also access to spacious lounges and a large and beautiful garden. You have internet access.

Reviewed By PaulRutherfordtheoneOK place, so nothing much to say. The garden - a dream, the house - right out of pippi long stockings. Bit noisy and creaky as old houses are. Perhaps our expectations were too high, too. Good to go if you love old wooden houses!

Våra tankar runt mat både till frukost och i restaurangen är att fokusera på lokala och svenska råvaror. Vi vill visa och erbjuda det goda, nyttiga och “miljösmarta” som produceras här i närområdet. Om du vill kan du börja dagen med ett morgondopp på någon av de tre badplatserna som finns i Mörbylånga (200 – 700 m från hotellet). På kvällen kan du njuta av den vackra solnedgången, samtidigt som du tar en promenad, äter middag eller bara kopplar av i en vilsam fåtölj. Magasin 1 är din lugna utgångspunkt för att uppleva och utforska underbara Öland.

A warm welcome to us at Eksgarden. Eksgarden hotel, B&B and restaurant is situated in Gardby on Oland's beautiful east coast and close to most of the things Oland has to offer. Borgholm, Farjestaden, Kalmar, golf courses, beautiful beaches, the countryside and a culture experiences within easy reach giving plenty of opportunities for you to choose what you wish to experience and to discover.
Not worth the room rate but great food
Reviewed By Jens HWe paid good money in order to stay in a picturesque atmosphere where we expected good quality of rooms and service but were rather disappointed. The rating of the hotel has probably been inflated by the restaurant part of the establishment where it is possible to enjoy superb food. Check in is during the front desk opening hours - 15-18. So no obvious way to ask for help during other times if there would be a problem. We had complaints to the cleaning which was of poor standard but didn’t know how to forward them. Rooms are fine but nothing special. 90% appears to be IKEA and not refurbished in a while. You can rent bikes but it’s not possible to take smaller children with you. Don’t stay here when it is hot. Our family of 2 adults and a two year-old stayed three nights in July-August, an unusually hot and humid week. We almost couldn’t sleep and our boy suffered heat rash. Yes, it is understandable that the hotel of this size can’t provide ac in a location like this - it is mostly 10 degrees colder in the summer - but some air circulation would be helpful. On the positive side you can sit outside in the warm evening and chat in a very nice environment. Insect repellent is recommended. The breakfast was very tasty, quite healthy and likely very Scandinavian. The staff was probably mostly too busy and didn’t seem to have time to offer a smile or to fill up the breakfast buffet too fast.

Lovely old hotel on Öland
Reviewed By Musicofnote58This hotel is located in an area with a history dating back to the Middle Ages. During the 16th century King Gustav Vasa established a number of “King’s Farms” all over Sweden, the idea being to improve the food supply throughout the country. The farm on this part of Öland became an example for the farmers living and working there. During the 17th and 18th centuries the entire island became one large royal hunting ground. The numerous dry stone walls constructed to keep the game from encroaching on farmland are still visible all over the island today. The hotel, approached through an avenue of birches, has beautiful gardens. There is a fountain, ancient mulberry trees and an apple orchard. Upstairs there are several rooms for guests, a library, and a salon with a piano and a fabulous view over to the Kalmar Sound. We were placed in a large, double-storey annex, which disappointingly had no wifi. Excellent buffet breakfast daily.

Detta B&B ligger i ett före detta mejeri på Öland, 20 minuters bilresa från centrala Mörbylånga. Från matsalens stora fönster kan du njuta av utsikt över Östersjön.Till Färjestaden och golfklubben Grönhögen tar det 30 minuter med bil.

Reviewed By ttyrWe stayed for 2 nights and had pizza dinner on the second evening. This is a very cute, friendly and welcoming place. We were happy with the guest facilitaties in the living quarter, and the gentleman at the reception was very helpful and even helped us find place to eat late on a Sunday evening. The pizzas tasted great, fresh and rustic, with toppings coming from local farms.

Reviewed By Magnus AA genuine old Öland farm, rebuilt into a hotel. Individually designed rooms with great atmosphere and comfort. All rooms with private bath and access to shared kitchens plus a large garden. This is the perfect place for a family our couples getaway to the unique nature of southeastern Öland, any time of year.
