I wasnt sure what to expect from a small town Chinese restaurant. I was very surprised. For dine in the food is served beautifully and the wait staff is very nice and attentive. I have done numerous take out orders and every time it is hot fresh and delicious. The owners are always on site and have always been friendly.

Our server was friendly and helpful. This is not a fancy place. The food is good, the menu is large and varied. Portions are large. There were four in our romp and all enjoyed the food.

Get the Panang Curry with beef! Outstanding for $10. Had enough for lunch and dinner. Had Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Peanut Curry dishes too with shrimp, beef, chicken, or veggie. Next time I am going to tell them to make it hotter. Great Chinese lunch specials too with soup, egg roll, and rice for $7. About 2 miles off I-40. Easy to get to. Man works out front, woman in kitchen. Small place. Not fancy. Everything made fresh. Steamed rice served with entrees.

In my goal to dine at every restaurant in Shawnee, Maple Garden was next on the list. I have heard such good reviews about it that I had high expectations but was a little disappointed. I ordered the Sesame Chicken to go. The food was packaged well and hot. When I first opened the package, I noticed the rice had an orange color which a little odd and found the rice didn't have much flavor. The chicken was good as well as the egg roll. I asked for chile sauce and it was extremely oily. The price was very reasonable ($5 for the meal) and very fast to-go service - nice people.
Shawnee has had many Chinese buffets come and go, two have lasted a long time, this place and Sunrise. Neither place is outstanding but we prefer this one when we're in the mood for this type of thing over Sunrise which has really gone down hill. The Mongolian BBQ is pretty good here if you tell them to make it with the garlic sauce and order it spicy.
