This is a casual , family owned restaurant. The food is very good, we especially loved the family style service we had the last time we were there. When I go alone I get the falafel and the tomato soup.

Jerusalem Mediterranean Cuisine

Wanting to try a new Mediterranean/Greek restaurant, based on reviews we ventured our on Saturday night to Jerusalem Mediterranean Cuisine. Upon arrival there were a few other diners and from across the restaurant a server yelled for us to sit anywhere we like. Once settled, a server promptly brought a high-chair for out little one and a few crayons and page from a coloring book. From a service perspective, both women servers were friendly. However, the positive stops there. Rather than work dedicated tables, the two were working the entire restaurant, stepping on each others toes and not knowing what the other was doing. As you will read, this led to balls dropped and a less than ideal experience. They should really reconsider the structure of their service, or better train the staff to work better as a team. On top of our service issues, I witnessed them having to send another table with complimentary dessert due to an issue, and bring another table an all new plate of rice as theirs was served cold. For an appetizer, we ordered the vegetarian grape leaves. They were served piping hot and were decent. Not the best dolmas I have ever had, but ok. The tzatziki sauce they were served with was a 2.5/5 - way to heavy on lemon and too watered down. This was disappointing, as I put tzatziki on just about everything when eating Mediterranean. At the same time we put our order for the grape leaves in, we ordered a grilled cheese pita for our little one to get something in front of him asap. As we watched the grilled cheese come up at the kitchen, we then watched it served to one of the servers friends/families who had arrived after we had even ordered it. Low and behold, minutes ticked by and no grilled cheese. Our food arrived, no grilled cheese. After being asked how everything was (once by each server) and both times informing them we were without grilled cheese, one finally arrived (and was removed from our bill). Another drop by the service, but bonus for us was they somehow ended up with an extra order of hummus. After asking 3 tables if they had ordered it, they finally just left it at our table and we were told to enjoy. This was a highlight, as the hummus was one of the best items we tasted while there. For our entrees, we got the gyro plate and chicken shawarma. Both were okay - though the rice had a flavor I did not particularly care for. Also, my gyro meat had some rather hard crusty parts. And again, the tzatiki sauce was sub-par.Overall the food is okay, but the service was less than ideal. I am not sure if it was just an off night or if there are more systemic issues. My gut based on what I witnessed is the latter. As a result, we will not be rushing back anytime soon, which is disappointing as others seem to truly enjoy this place. Dine at your own risk here - hopefully they get it turned around!

Loving Mediterranean food, we have been meaning to get Taziki's since they opened. We finally stopped in this afternoon and thought we were on to something. The optics of the interior & friendliness of the management exceeded my expectations. Although we ordered food to-go, we decided to have the new whipped feta appetizer (which they let me sample before ordering) and enjoy a glass of wine prior to heading home. The whipped feta appetizer was tasty, with notes of citrus. It was served with ample pita - we opted for a mix of toasted and soft pita. The real disappointment was when we got home. The dolmades plate had one lone toasted pita point with it and the dolmades were the most odd I have ever seen - short, stubby and sub-par in flavor. For the cost of the plate, we should have just got the appetizer which comes with one less dolma and no Greek salad. Additionally, the charbroiled lamb entree we got was the most meager serving of lamb I have ever received from a Mediterranean eatery. Although prepared a bit different than typical gyro meet, more medallion style than sliced, for the price, I felt we were short changed. Overall, Taziki's delivered the typical chain letdown I have grown accustomed to. Focused more on marketing and optics - don't let them fool you. I try and support local as often as I can and this will continue to hold true with Mediterranean/Greek food in the OKC area. There are much better options which will cost you less money, provide higher quality and more quantity in Edmond and OKC. I really hoped Taziki's would prove better - I will probably not be back anytime soon, despite the pleasantness of the management we interacted with.
