We've tried all the Chinese food restaurants many times in Ardmore but keep coming back to New China King in the Homeland parking lot. My favorite is beef broccoli with the dark brown sauce. It's fantastic, especially on a cold winter night. Most of their business is takeout which I would suggest because they only have about 5-6 old tables and no A/C so it's stifling in the summer, especially with all the heat generated from the kitchen. And the same with the winter, no heat so it's freezing. They also only provide plastic cheap silverware so if you've got something tough to cut (such as too big a cut of broccoli), you'll probably break your knife or fork trying to get through it. They do not have fountain drinks either, just a cooler behind the counter with canned or bottled sodas and water. I think with this set-up they actually expect most of their business to be take-out and are obviously trying to keep their costs as low as possible. They are a family-run business and are very friendly.
food was terrible!!!!!!!!!! just a huge buffet of nasty! food seemed to have been sitting there for an extended period. just not quality food at all. if you want good chinese food just go a few steps further to China King.
This Chinese buffet is in a busy shopping mall and quite often filled to capacity. On the occasion of our visit, there were at least 3 dozen main courses and numerous desserts, continuously replenished by the many kitchen staff. On the positive side: a great variety of chicken, seafood, beef and pork dishes. On the negative side, most meats were breaded with sweet sauces, and there were very few vegetable dishes. Most dishes are delicious, but the so-called 'coconut shrimp' is an especially disgusting preparation that has no actual taste of coconut. The cream-cheese filled wontons are a wonderful East-meets-West. The Mongolian frog-legs are quite good, though one can speculate endlessly where the historic Mongols would have collected the frogs. Recommended, but do be selective.
