Reviews on Bar food in Afton, Oklahoma, United States. Afton is a town in southwest Ottawa County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 1,049 as of the 2010 census, with population growth stemming from the near abandonment of nearby towns of Cardin and Picher because of ground contamination sites by local mining quarries. After a long day of traveling this place was walking distance from the motel. The customer service was excellent. The menu was really good. We ordered a full rack of ribs with slaw and fries. We couldn't finish it but we tried. The ribs were juicy and very tasty. We had cocktails and relaxed in the grill.

This place is very charming and the food was absolutely delicious. I had heard and read mixed reviews about the service so I wasnât sure what to expect. The hostess basically hollered at us from the back of the restaurant asking how many and then just pointed to a table. Granted it was the middle of the afternoon and they were not busy but that just seemed odd and kind of rude. She also had a frown on her face the entire time we were there and never again acknowledged our presence. Our server was ok. He was very nice but seemed timid and unsure of what he was doing. It felt like we may or may not get what we ordered. But we did...and it was amazing! The cheese board was spectacular (& huge) and we also had a couple of other appetizers and salads. All wonderful! We will eat here again and hope that the service has improved. Loved the decor and look forward to trying other things from the menu.

Stopped in for dinner. Was seated after a short wait. Pleasant interior. Nice views of water. Outside tables. Full Bar. Good food. 2 entrees ordered. Both the pork chops & coconut shrimp were good & plentiful. Came with baked potato, roll, veggies, & salad. Our server, Trina was very attentive & pleasant. Will definitely return. :)
Called to reserve Friday night ribs...was told they havenât started their rib service for the season. Their season ends in less than three weeks so guessing they donât start this year. Always live the Ugly Fries, investments in the facility remain great. Canât find a better Bloody Mary anywhere. Still, service on a very slow night was such that had to go ask another staff member to take our payment. Waitress had probably 2 other tables but never came back to check on drinks, bus table or deliver check. Used to be itâs too loud your too old. Bring the ribs back, improve service and maybe then restore Uglyâs place in the Grand Lake places to visit list.
Staying at a nearby resort and not wanting to dine at their mis-managed and poorly executed restaurant, we decided to get off-property and dine at Blind Swine. Arriving around 6 pm on a summer Saturday, there were a few tables occupied, but it was obviously a later crowd type of place - especially given they have live music, etc...Very casual in nature, the menu is small but the execution is spot on! Everything we had was surprisingly delicious! The table favorite was the smoked fish dip appetizer - darn good! The peel & eat shrimp were really good as well. For mains, the pulled pork sliders stood out, as did the Reuben. The steak special was good - a nicer cut of meat would have made it great for the price. On top of the food standing out, I always take note when the owner of an establishment is not only out working the room, but doing the work. We watched him do everything from check on tables to help with dishes, to deliver food. We would not only return to Blind Swine if in the area, but we would recommend you do as well!

We did breakfast buffet with friends. It does have great view. We came by boat so took awhile to get space to dock. Other customers were helpful on that. Of course the young lady running the gas dock was fantastic in managing all the boats coming in.Buffet was almost informal. Couple items had no idea what they were. Sausage patties where burnt.. black... inedible. If buffet was better organized and could tell what items were, it would at least be 4star.Yes, we will try again.

Eddy's is a beautiful restaurant and bar overlooking Grand Lake. We offer outside seating, American Traditional food, cocktails, and live bands on certain weekends. Come join us for lunch or dinner!
Say no to the traditional fried food only lakeside food options and try Eddyâs. Finally a lakeside establishment with actual service and good food. Love music on most weekends and the kids love to throw their leftovers to the eager fish below!Thank you for your review. If you haven't already, try the Hummus platter. It is fresh and delicious! Kids love the fish feeding, and me too personally! :) We have great hotel deals going on for Labor Day, the last hoorah of the summer! Check it out on our Facebook page "Shangri-La on Grand Lake!

Doc's is a lovely off the water dining experience. We offer a wide variety of foods as well as a full bar. There are multiple televisions in the dinning area for all of the sports lovers. Come out and join us for an appealing breakfast, lunch, or dinner e
Located in the Shangri-La Resort, Doc's offers decent resort dining. I am not one to typically eat on property, but with few nearby off property options, it was just easy for a weekend getaway with baby and toddler in tow. We actually ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here on the Saturday we were visiting. There is a nice outdoor patio and bar, and plenty of televisions for catching a game, etc...All three times, service was pretty attentive and good. For lunch we ordered food to-go and took it to our room. They ensured I was aware it would be about a 45 minute wait due to the lunch rush - which was fine!Breakfast was okay, especially for the price. Rather than gouge with outrageous resort prices, the menu is priced pretty well. The kids waffle was large in portion and quite tasty. They also made a better than average bloody mary. For lunch we had the steak bite appetizer - so flavorful with the bread dipped in the sauce! We also had the hummus platter - could use a few more veggies for dipping, but the hummus was great. As for the kids grilled peanut butter, jelly, and marshmallow sandwich - more peanut butter and less jelly would make it!At dinner we had the pizza (definitely on point) and tacos. The tacos were very good. The chocolate cake, however, was dry and tasted store bought at best. They need to up their dessert game, or recommend something else!Doc's is above average, especially for a lake resort in Oklahoma. We will probably return to Shangri-La and I will look forward to visiting Doc's again. We greatly appreciate your detailed review! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your time spent at Shangri-La and Doc's. I will check on that dessert comment. Julie, our pastry chef, is phenomenal and I am surprised to read about that part. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.Next time you all visit, try the meatloaf! It is not your average home cooked meal!

All the fun you can stomach! The Shebang is a fine dining and drinking establishment with a varied menu sure to satisfy the most sophisticated palate. Our fun and inviting atmosphere includes five unique dining rooms and a standing-room-only bar. Whether
Hate writing reviews like this, but they earned it. Made reservations for a group of about 10. We were early, so we went upstairs to the balcony for a beverage. They kindly made us a drink even though they weren't technically open yet. That's where it fell off a cliff. Our table? 15-20 minutes late. Dinner consisted of 2 pizzas and two people ordering filets. It took 90 minutes to get our food. That's not a typo. Our server disappeared for lengths of time. It wasn't that busy, either. Once it arrived, the food was okay but it wasn't great...certainly didn't warrant that prep time. I know there's "lake time" but glaciers formed in less time than this. While the bar upstairs is fun, I won't be back for food again.

While I'd heard of this restaurant from others, this was my first visit. I was pleasantly surprised. It appeared very clean, while decorated a bit unusual (like a motorcycle hanging from the ceiling). The wait staff were friendly and helpful and most of all, the food was great!
