I've been going to Ichiroya for many years. The management has changed a few times along with the levels of service, quality of dishes, value, and menu. Sometimes it is a fabulous dining experience, sometimes it is just good enough to contemplate a return. Right now (early November 2016) it is just good enough. It is important to note that beyond appearing to be a restaurant, it is actually an izakaya, so absolutely zero concern exists for non-smokers. If you don't like cigarette smoke blowing in your general direction from time to time and you're not bold enough to use the huge menus as a fan, then this place may not be for you. What's nice is the fresh fish display that greets you at the entrance. It really is that morning's catch laid out on ice. Nice variety and nice effect. The beer is extremely cold, near freezing, so in the hot humid weather it lasts long. Not much variety on tap, though. Apart from the supremely fresh seafood, the side dishes are very, very delicious. Huge variety on the menu. You can tell that a lot of thought had gone into the menu. This is a place to really party hard with good friends. You will have a good time and you won't fee as though your wallet or purse had been violated.

What to do and see in Ginowan, Japan: The Best Places and Tips
Went there when it first opened three years ago and is great place to visit. Like another post mentioned there is no English/picture menu but the chicken, pork and fresh fish dishes are highly recommended. Would definitely recommend trying the corn tempura when he has it in season, one of my favorite dishes.

Had the best dinner in our Okinawa visit here in Aguncha Restaurant. This restaurant comes highly recommended by other reviewers and we werenât disappointed. Rather than ordering a la cat, we took advantage of their 2,000yen 7-course set dinner. Every dish was delicious and wonderfully presented. The set dinner enabled us to tried several Okinawa special cuisines - Agu Pork, sea grapes, Okinawa bitter melon, parrot fish sashimi, grilled fish etc. Quantity was more than sufficient but you wonât be overstuffed. Every dish was excellently prepared, presented and served in a steady but leisurely pace. We didnât feel rushed. The best thing was that there was an English Menu, most serving staff can speak excellent English and genuinely happy to serve us. The experience made the whole meal feel special. At the end, the restaurant even gave each of us a pair of chopsticks as souvenir. Aguncha is a small restaurant. Reservation is a must. It is very close to the Tomari pier. The set dinner required at least 3 persons in order to order.

This restaurant is not your typical touristy restaurant, it's a small restaurant in a port, not easy to recognise as it looks like a container, not a restaurant and not easy to access unless you drive or take a taxi. But it's absolutely worth it. They do have menus in various languages like Korean and Chinese and once you decide what you want to eat, you have to go to a coupon machine to order your food and pay for it. Pass the coupons to the staff when you get your seat and wait for your food to arrive. They do serve table by table in sequence accordingly to the queue and the food arrives all at one time for each table, so eating together is a good experience.Highly recommended is the tendon, Okinawa soba and kaisendon. Super fresh, tender and tasty, all at a great price! The shrimp in the tendon are huge and the raw seafood in the kaisendon are as fresh as it can get. For those who do not like seafood, the Okinawan soba was delicious and flavourful. You can pour your own water and tea from a general counter next to the machine.Quite off the typical tourist route but if you drive, it's worth the visit. Do try to come early, we were lucky to score a table immediately upon arrival but after us, the line grew and the restaurant filled up real fast (and it's not a small restaurant with more than 10 tables). Large car park so no concerns if you are driving there.Super highly recommended!

From the macaroni and cheese, voodoo rolls, and shrimp étouffée, this place is my favorite spot on island! The owner is funny and welcoming and the staff are great! I eat here at least once a week! The decor and atmosphere are fun, yet family friendly! For those interested in a good time, the bar has a good variety as well! If you live here or are just visiting, stop by, you will not be disappointed
