沖縄に行くといつも立ち寄る『道の駅ゆいゆい国頭』、ここでしか販売されていないからぎ茶の家庭用袋詰めを購入するのが目的です。ここではいつも道の駅館内にあるレストランや観光案内所横にあるフードコート的なところで食事してたのですが今回、初めてわぁー家さんに入店してみました（時刻は午後３時半頃）。入店すると自販機がありここで食券を購入してオーダーするシステムでした。すぐ目についたのが１日１０食限定の『猪豚野菜そば』でした（現在、野菜価格高騰の為、１日１０食に制限してるというような張り紙がありました）。まだ、自販機のランプが点灯してたので食べられそうなので即食券を購入してテーブル席に着座しました。この道の駅に来ると必ず名物の猪豚を使用したメニューをオーダーしてるので希望通りです。１０分ほどして運ばれてきた猪豚野菜そばを見て驚愕しました。そばの上に猪豚が入った野菜炒めがてんこ盛りでまるで富士山のように見えました。野菜を取るための取り皿が添えられており先ずは半分ほど野菜を減らしてからいただきました。人生、今までに食した中で最上位ランクの肉野菜が盛られてて感激です。肉野菜を食べても食べてもそばに行きつきません。ここまでデカ盛りだとは思ってもいなかったので完食した時には超満腹になりました。連れは猪豚焼きそばをオーダーしましたがソース味のこれもかなり大盛りでヘビーな一品でした。沖縄本島北部にこんな名物店があったことに今まで気づけなかったことを恥じました。今後はからぎ茶購入と猪豚野菜そばを食すことをセットにして再訪することに決定しました。

Located in the northern part of the island on the western coast, this restaurant is famed for its longevity menu consisting of organically farmed produce and special cooking methods. Its residents have an average age of 85 - mainly farmers who are vendors of the famed citrus fruit which resembled a lemon called shiikwaasaa and purple sweet potato. Named after the owner, Emi a former nutritionist, a set lunch menu is offered daily. They also have a cooking demonstration room. You receive a traditional Okinawan hospitality. Be forewarned - you will need to bring a Japanese translator.

沖縄では珍しい日本そばのお店です。しかも、お店のある大宜味村でとれたソバを使っているそうです。このお店に行く場合、とにかくお腹をすかせて行くことをお薦めします。小食を自覚している方は朝ごはんも抜いたほうがいいかもしれません。なぜなら、とにかく大量に出てくるお店だからです。日本そばの量は通常のざるそばの二人前はあります。もずく酢などの小鉢は最低でも6種類でますし、なによりセットのてんぷらが大量です。3回ほど行ったのですが、てんぷらは人参、もやし、よもぎ、モヤシ、かきあげ、ゴーヤーなど5種類以上は出してくれました。おかげでメインの日本そばを食べるまでにほぼ満腹状態に・・・それでも店主のおばあちゃんは出し足りないらしく!!!食べられない分は持ち帰りました。てんぷら自体はどれもおいしいです。

A friend and I, passed by this soba house many times in the past but, never stopped because the parking lot always appears crowded. We finally made it, one afternoon when it didn't seem so busy. We each ordered a bowl of soba and, now know why, the place gets a good volume of business. The service was speedy and the food, delicious. It is a small building, that may get crowded with more than a dozen guests. I recommend, eating here, to any of my friends traveling north, in Okinawa. Just take a peek at the parking lot, before entering, if you don't enjoy crowed conditions while dining.

まず、店主の格好が不衛生的。裸の大将スタイルで汗だくになって調理している姿にドン引き。汗が料理に入ってないよね？と疑い深く見てしまいました。三品頼みましたがどれも不味い。特に手作りギョーザがクソ不味い！　絶対にオススメできないお店です。　店主はもう少し衛生的にもっと料理を勉強した方が良いと思います。

Amazing find! My family was visiting from the United States, staying at Okuma resort, and we wanted local food (we had enough pizza and fries). We followed mapquest to a place that had a restaurant symbol not knowing what we would find. It was only minutes away. A gem in the rough! Although they did not have an English menu or speak any English, they were very friendly. We saw a few dishes come out of the kitchen that looked great and pointed to those. I also used my limited knowledge and asked for "sashimi, tempura and sakana." The sets were reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. My sister claimed it was her favorite meal eaten in all of Okinawa. My kids were even excited because it was such an adventure for them. I can't wait to come again and tell my friends about this restaurant. I wish we were staying in Okuma another night so we could go again

近くのヒルギ林にカヤックの体験に行った帰りに寄りました。通りから、看板に従い、ずっと山の中というのか、里山のようなところを入ったところの川沿いにあり、さまざまな花がさき、飼い犬がいて、お店の中には、ふくろうのオブジェがたくさんありました。宮沢和史さんが作曲だったかの曲が、お店の中に貼ってありました。遅い昼食で、いくつかの定食やそばがありました。ハーブチキンの定食を頼むと、夕食の準備中で間に合わないということだったので、沖縄そばをいただきました。500円でした。その後、他のお店でも食べましたが、こちらは平麺と燻製した肉が特徴で、他の店よりあっさりし、また肉の香りがよく、一番おいしかったので印象に残りました。漬物で、ゴーヤーとおしんこみたいのがあったが、どうもパパイヤか何かだったのか、甘めのつけものでした。お店には、山豚（イノシシと思われる）定食があったのだが、写真では、山盛りな感じだったんで、辞めましたが、後になって、あれはおいしそう、と食べなかったのを後悔しています。自然の中で、ゆっくり過ごすにはよいお店と思われます。

沖縄本島の東海岸、名護市の辺野古から東村高江へと北上する途上にあります。道の駅サンライズという複合商業施設があって、巨大なパイナップルが目印です。その一角にある小さなご飯処ですが、店構えと言い、料理のお品書きと言い、良い意味で素朴な感じです。琉球蕎麦が選択肢が多く、楽しめると思います。

We were there for dinner at 530pm. Shops seem to close early here. It is run by a couple. The lady who takes the order speaks some english. We ordered a fish stew and a chicken cutlet. Portions are huge and comes with lots of raw cabbage as salad. We initially drove to Slow Food Canaan who speak very good english and were very helpful. But as they had a full house of guests they could not cope unless we ordered curry or okinawa soba - not our favourite. Can I say that I prefer eating here more because of the type of food. Slow Food Canaan is certainly more comfortable.
