Bob Evans use to be my favorite restaurant in Waverly. Food as good but service was GREAT. But about 2006 things started to change. Many of the best of the wait staff left and things started going downhill, slowly at first but then precipitously. Service went from A+ so F-. They still have some nice cookies and pies for sale at the front. But there are a dozen places in Waverly where a person can get cookies and pies. Don't go.

My friends and I went to Arby's in Waverly, Ohio for lunch. We went through the drive-thru and ordered 3 Chicken sandwich meals - one regular, one without tomato and one without mayo. When we got back to the office, we had two regular and one marked "special" which had mayo and lettuce on the bottom bun, no tomato and mayo slathered all over the chicken and the top bun. There was so much mayo that the top bun wouldn't stay on the sandwich! This had to have been done deliberately. That is poor customer service. When I called the manager, she said that sometimes orders get messed up at the drive-thru when they get busy. This type of mix-up is unacceptable because when I called her I asked how the sandwiches were made and she said with a little mayo and lettuce on the bottom with tomato and then chicken but no mayo on the top bun. The amount of mayo that was put on my sandwich was ridiculous! It had to be a deliberate action. I have worked many years in the fast-food business and I know that this is not the way to treat customers. I was offered a free meal by the manager but I will not be back to that Arby's. I will stay with the one in my home town. They do not treat people that way. I think this was a very rude act and one worthy of a bad review.

The Lake White Club has been a tradition in Waverly, Ohio since 1936. We serve a variety of american food from our famous fried chicken and onion tangles, to filet mignon, salmon, and sandwiches. There is something for everyone!
We ate at Lake White Club for their Easter Buffet. The online menu had several foods listed which were not on the buffet. They listed chicken broth (not there), Onion tanglers ( also not there) and salad. There were three dressings for the salad, ranch, cranberry, and Italian. They ran out of ranch. Several people had to wait quite a while to get the ranch dressing. The entres listed were; honey baked ham, fried chicken and roast beef. The roast beef looked like the kind of roast beef you would buy in a pre-packaged container at the grocery. The slices of beef were rolled and dropped into a gravy. The vegetables listed were; green beans, augratin potatoes, corn and broccoli casserole. There was no corn or broccoli. There was a collection of pies on the dessert table. Pies were the only type of dessert I saw. The buffet was set up right by the bar area. It was crowded and dark. In fairness, I was a big fan of the original Lake White Club. The food today was not up to the caliber I was used to getting. Maybe it will get better. We paid 24.99 each for the buffet today. All of the food advertized on the online menu was not there. It would have been better to advertise what you knew you could provide, then add extra if time and prices permit.

Onion rings, sodas and a large pizza cost 50.00, with an average tip, for three people. The pizza was skimpy with their toppings and, the crust was too thin. The toppings did have a good flavor, especially the cheese. We drove a good distance to eat here on the recommendations of friends but, definitely not worth the trip. Maybe we stopped on a bad night so, we may give it another try if we are in the area again.

My wife and I will soon celebrate 41 years of marital bliss, well mostly, and wanted a nice quiet restaurant where the atmosphere and food would be pleasing for an evening alone. This restaurant filled every need, the food was excellent and the waitress, (Brook) was exceptional and very attentive. This is a place worth visiting for fresh seafood and outta this world onion rings. So happy we chose this special place for our special nite.

As other reviewers have already noted, the staff are very courteous and helpful. Many of the other diners greeted each other by name and the restaurant seems to be a popular choice for locals, especially many active and retired policemen.Although the diner has been in business for less than 20 years - I can't remember the exact date it started, but they have a newspaper article posted near the entrance - the 1950's decor and vibe did not feel obviously artificial. Everything was clean, prices reasonable, and the food was good ... try it, I believe you'll like it.
