Fred's Diner

We have been in Akron for 28 years and just recently discovered Fred's diner. It is just what you expect a diner not made out of an old rail car to look like--a little dive hole in the wall with possibly the best breakfast in Akron. The service is usually quick and efficient and their motto says it all: eat, pay, get out. You never have to wait long for your food and if you leave hungry it must be something you did. I have tried a couple of their sandwiches(the cuy-a-hoagy is really good) but I always come back to the omelets or the chicken fried steak. Cannot not recommend this little gem highly enough. Once you try it I guarantee you'll go back,

Honeymoon Grille

My friend and I were out kayaking on the lakes today and wanted to grab some food on our way home. Neither of us had ever been to the Honeymoon Grille but I had heard great things. It was SO BUSY, we weren’t expecting that, but we were seated pretty quickly. The food was great and the service was great. We will definitely come back!

Flury's Cafe

We stayed over in Cuyahoga after a concert and stopped at Flury's for breakfast the following morning. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage + bacon and hashbrowns. The food was great and the waitstaff were prompt and attentive. If you're looking for a no frills place with basic but seriously tasty offerings, this is it.

Woody's Restaurant

Good cheap breakfast. We enjoyed our pancakes and eggs. The sausage and gravy over biscuits is made with spicy Italian sausage, a bit odd. The bacon was not crispy like we asked for, it was hardly cooked actually. It may be because the server could not hear us. I’m not kidding, I had trouble talking to the kids across the table, it was so loud in there. And there were only 4 tables of people in our dining room. The acoustics are just terrible for some reason. So if you are looking for a breakfast spot to enjoy a quiet meal with friends, probably not your best option.
