Food was ok. Took waaaaay too long for what we ordered. Staff was lackadaisical at best. Floors were dirty . Booth seats and table was sticky. Use to go for breakfast every weekend in Dayton when I lived in Ohio years ago. What a disappointment from what it use to be

It has been awhile since I was been so I stopped in twice this past week and how things have changed. One of the first thing I noticed was that the Manager's no longer go around and visit with the customers, then to top that off the food coming out of the kitchen was very slow. Even my server both times was very slow when I have to wait @ 30 minutes for my check. In the past when you got a refill it came in a fresh glass not any more they take your glass and refill it. Wings size about the same but the sauce on my wings was very dry it could have been wetter. Never thought I would be unhappy with this place I was twice this week.

Tried Mila's for the first time primarily because I wasn't even aware of it's existence. Tucked away in a small strip mall it is easily overlooked. It is small and somewhat austere as far as decor. Menus runs to flat breads and sandwiches with a limited number of salads. My wife tried the Greek flat bread and pronounced it delicious and I say the same about the chicken salad on cranberry bread sandwich. Housemade iced tea came unsweetened and was very good. One should not fail to try the strawberry bread pudding if you are inclined towards dessert. As I recall that is the only dessert listed on the menu. Service was well paced if somewhat lacking in warmth but then you have to realize that it is Englewood which is not a bastion of quality dining or great service.

I enjoy firehouse subs. I had the Cajun chicken which was a good one. Nice kick to the sub. Tried the chili. It was ok but I like it spicier. Service was good and the staff friendly.

Frisch's Big Boy

Hometown restaurant favorite with casual dine-in, carry out and drive-thru service. Fresh, cooked-to-order menu includes the famous Big Boy Sandwich, hand-breaded onion rings, family dinners, extensive breakfast bar, homemade soups, desserts and breakfast

Frisch's is a restaurant that is consistent in food prep from restaurant to restaurant. This restaurant was no exception. Quickly seated for a late night meal. Floors were dirty - we had jello and lettuce under our table which was never cleaned up. Waitress was friendly and service was relatively quick. The entrance door is on the side of the restaurant which was somewhat strange and made it difficult for this first timer here to find in the rain. I ordered the three piece chicken tender meal and picked cole slaw and onion rings. The chicken tenders had great taste, but were very small in size - disappointing. Onion rings were well seasoned with a cornmeal breading and came out hot. The cole slaw is a simple cabbage with a sweet mayo based dressing and poppyseeds.

I've eaten at this restaurant many times over the years. Service is always fast and friendly and, if you're ordering breakfast items, the food is usually good. However, the non-breakfast items are hit or miss -- some are tasty and others are not very good. They have added calorie counts to the menu, which is helpful for those who are counting calories.

I'm gluten sensative, and they have a GF menu with a moderate variety of items available, which include salads, and their famous skyline chili served over a large russet potato. I figure for a place that features skyline chili, most people coming here are coming for the chili. The servers were very friendly. The place is very clean and reminded me a bit of a 50's diner. The server took our order right away and we received our meals within about 5 minutes. I was very pleased I could have the chili as it is a favorite at our house. Very family friendly. Also had a small vegetarian menu, so quite versatile. A must so near the home of this famous chili.

We came in to celebrate my daughter's 8th birthday, because they are right beside the Englewood Fun Center. We came in to two girls at the front giggling together. I told them that we had 5 people. They looked around, and kept talking. They then told me it would be a 25 minute wait. My son, who is ten said, "but there are open tables everywhere." They ignore us and we ended up going to El Toro who treated my daughter like a queen. I will never come back. Even if there was a reason you weren't using those tables, the girls attitudes were disgusting.

Hoping my visit was an exception to the rule. Got the lunch special. Pulled bbq chicken was dry. Bun was dry. At least it was easy to avoid and save calories. Green beans ok, but underseasoned. Mashed potatoes no better than school cafeteria. Soda machines broken so had to resort to iced tea. Stopped drinking when struck by mildew flavor. Sorry, since I really wanted to like this place.Hi Cindy,I’m so sorry. We will look into the issues with the food. The soda machine went down that morning, and we were waiting on Pepsi to come out and fix it. We apologize, and will address your other concerns with our staff. I truly hope you will try Hickory River again, as we never want to lose a customer. Thank you.
