I walk right past the first time looking for this place on the recommendation of the locals. Situated behind a big gate in a small side street, the large courtyard is outside the glass windows of the restaurant. Lovely old buildings with lots of character, and interesting features and pictures, go in and wander round, well worth it. The yard has canopy covers in the summer and seating arranging in different but imaginative ways. The menu is fairly simple but has a choice for all tastes. We had the chicken in the wood oven and squid on the planxa with some local wine, it was all excellent. Quick and friendly service, but it does get busy, would advise booking on any night of the week. Closed Saturday lunchtime and Sunday and Monday evenings.

It is a steak restaurant and they claim that they are the best steak restaurant in France!!The steak was good but I am not sure it is the best meat that you could find in France. The menu is a bit poor. The service was mediocre and the atmosphere was a bit on the low side. The food is just beef stake. The food is prepared on the open fire but they did not bother to ask how the meat should be cooked. Side dishes were very poor. DON"T ever try cheese plate. It is a big disappointment. They have Michelin plate in the entrance but I have doubts that it is authentic. Bathroom was dirty. No water in the sink. Complete disaster. Do not try.Cher monsieur Je suis désolée et surprise de constater votre mauvaise expérience dans notre établissement. Peut être n'avez vous pas été suffisamment conseillé pour le choix de la viande ? En effet nous ne demandons pas de cuisson , le Chef suggère "bleu chaud"sauf cas exceptionnelPour révoquer vos critiques, nous n'avons aucune prestation de "se dire" meilleur restaurant de Viandes. c'est une distinction quoi nous a attribué. Concernant l'assiette Michelin en façade, c'est bien une authentique !Quand à nos toilettes , elles sont fait plus de 3 fois par jour, en revanche si la personne avant n'a pas prix soin de faire attention... j'en suis désolée mais pas responsable... Pour le robinet, il y a de l'eau, il faut avancer les mains pour que le détecteur fonctionne...En espérant vous recevoir prochainement et vous faire changer d'avis ;-) bien cordialementELise
