Have eaten here twice - and have been amazed on both occassions. The owners do everything to make you feel welcome and provide a range of dishes varying between traditional French and African - something which I had never tried before. All food is freshly cooked and is so tasty! Try the prawns with manioc leaves - delicious. A rare treat which will titilate your tastebuds!!

4 of us went for an evening meal last week, (28th August 16) and it was faultless. Our friends had been before and thought we would like it. We all had three courses, each prepared very well, and just as importantly, on hot (where appropriate) and traditional plates. No fake tiles for the starters here! The table staff were very polite and attentive, and the owner made sure that everything was OK.From a personal point of view, this one of the best restaurants around Leucate. Parking is across the road in a public parking area, and does fill up. I strongly recommend that you take good care when you park so that you can easily get out again later. So, pick a good space, and reverse in!It is important to make a reservation here, and you can choose between eating inside in the courtyard/garden, or inside.I would revisit Le Jardin des Filoche without hesitation.

Fish, music and grillades
About 20 years ago we stayed in La Franqui when it was a sleepy little beach resort at the end of a small road. It is has expanded (obviously) but this restaurant has appeared which is a big plus. We, a family of 8 ate there at lunchtime and were all delighted with the quality and variety of the food, with excellent seafood options but also some good choices for those like me who prefer meat. Thoroughly recommended, and I guess even more attractive for those who like their brand of music at evenings/weekends.

Despite being very busy (understandably), the service was rapid, very friendly and even in English if I needed it. Food was good portions at good prices, no rip off here despite waterfront position. The seafood was fresh and the pizzas well covered and huge. Thoroughly recommend.

Restaurant - bar , Club de Plage ouvert 7 jours/7 jours juqqu'au 15 septembre 2019 Chemin de Mouret -Leucate Plage Pour toute reservation: biquetplage.com
Had a snack here and dinner. Foodquality is excellent, but it can get very busy. For dinner we ordered fish from the display, but felt we were charged an arm and a leg. Especially because the waiter informed us one fish wasnât enough to share between two adults (when in fact it would have been more than enough). It wasnât cooked to perfection, but the beef and tuna dish that were ordered by the kids were really good. Snacks for lunch and appetizers were really good too. All in all a good experience, but far too pricey for what it was.

I ordered the steak and asked for it medium (a point). It came out well done (see first picture). The waiter insisted that it was "a point" and that I was wrong. Eventually he swiped the plate from in front of me and stormed off. Everyone finished their meals and then my replacement arrived, which was rare, close to blue (see photo 2). Given the steak was 28 Euros, I have to assume the chef is capable of cooking a steak and that the 2nd effort was to spite me for sending the original effort back. Awful experience, rude waiter, poor food, I won't be visiting again.

Decided to visit Leucate plage as had heard it was one of the best beaches in the region. Spent the morning on the beach and popped in to Ginette (plage) for lunch and expected the normal beachside fare... However, we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food that was served - large fresh prawns, delicious calamari, an amazing mozzarella and tomato salad... They accidentally brought out some cod and potato balls which we said to leave (and were delightful) but didn't end up charging us for them. All served up in a relaxed beachy manner at a decent price. In summary expected an average experience but the food far exceeded our expectations and couldn't ask for more!!!

When we arrived there we couldn't find a menu with prices. The owner instantly came with a daily menu with a variety of different African dishes. We enjoyed a large and lovely home made cocktail. We didn't have to wait very long for our main course to arrive. The tuna was a little overcooked but the delicious vegetables made it a really joyfull diner. The owner and his wife did a great job in giving us a nice and calm diner!Prices where between â¬16 and â¬23 for a main dish.

The restaurant is perched on a cliff with stunning views - it is easy to find and there is plenty of parking right out front. A modern building with floor to ceiling windows makes the most of the coast, and every diner has a superb view.We had the 34⬠lunch menu (there were also options at 55⬠and more), and this was excellent value for such sophisticated, pretty cuisine. Everything is refined and full of flavour, and service is in the michelin star category (as is the cooking). The wine list is substantial with a lot of interesting wines, and plenty to choose from between 30-40⬠a bottle.Special mention for dessert - such an intricate and perfectly flavoured dessert in a basic lunch menu was a fabulous surprise at the endow the meal. Strawberry 'opera' didn't sound that exciting to me, but in fact it was amazingly presented and totally delicious.
