We passed by here and heard a woman singing with a guitarist accompanying her so decided to call in for a mescal cocktail each. Nice surroundings and especially enjoyed the poem on the ceiling and the quotes from writers and poets around the walls. Relaxing place and looked like it was popular with locals. Service was quite slow but it was Ok as the music was enjoyable.

Great food, cocktails and ice cold beer. Theme nights a few times per week.
Stopped by for a couple of cervesas and margaritas. The beer was cold and the fans were blowing. Margaritas were smooth and flavourful.Owner was quirky and definitely recommends Hurricane divers for fishing but the guy who was at the next table selling his tour to a group didn't have enough English for me to fish with (but that's another story and Rick would do well to remember that some of us gringos can speak Spanish)... but the beer was good and it was a quick stop that hit the spot

If this bar was in the U.S., it would definitely be considered a hipster bar. Not in a negative connotation, but in that they cater to a young crowd with Mezcal and expensive regional beers and from all over Mexico. One Oaxacan specialty that I haven't seen mentioned much is the Margarita de Chapulines. Not everyone's bag, but it is definitely memorable. The service is ok, but the place is pretty small and fills up quickly, so get there early if you're bringing a group.

Nice spanish restaurant with all the trimmings (chorizo, fabada, jabugo, cheese), good beers and mezcal. Was pleasantly surprised with their Thanksgiving dinner. Very succulent turkey, etc. The terrace is great, good music, young crowd. Service is slow but so it is almost everywhere in Oaxaca

We started our meal with the guacamole which has to be the largest portion in Oaxaca, possibly 2 avacados or more, diced onion, tomato and cilantro, really well prepared and only 90 pesos. I had the homemade ravioles stuffed with picadillo in a creamy white sauce. My partner had the chicken breast with cheese. Both were very good but portions are large. We started with 2 margaritas which since we did not specify a specific tequilla were quite expensive, 120 pesos each, these should have been made with the house brand, not premium or their margaritas are just too high.

My friend and I went there on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered drinks and two entrees. The drinks arrived about 20 minutes later. The entrees another 10 minutes. I was impressed by the food and the presentation but the waiting is unacceptable. I must say that the manager came by twice to see if everything was OK and we reported the delay. He did apologize that there was only one cook available. There was a larger party on the terrace below us and I noted that their plates arrived 5-10 minutes apart too. Another downer was that there were no paper towels in the men's room. There was a roll sitting on the sink in the women's room but the dispensers were empty. My friend said she would never come back. I might give them another chance if they want to risk another review.

Visited Mezquite - Gastronomia y destilados several times while in Oaxaca in April 2019, as a great spot for excellent mezcal cocktails and creative Oaxacañan cuisine, while taking in the view of the Templo de Santo Domingo from the (thankfully) covered terrace. We had the Baja-style shrimp tacos (delicious, and highly recommended), the seafood mocajete (very good, if a little expensive), and guacamole (creatively presented, with edible flowers). Max, one of the owners, was present for one of our visits, and was exceedingly nice and welcoming - even treated us to a copita of mezcal. Recommended as a great spot for a relaxing drink with a view. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and will return again.

The burgers are the size of sliders (think White Castle size). I wouldnât have ordered had them had I known that(not that tasty). They have three beers on tap tried a flight. They were ok. I enjoy craft beer and know my way around breweries. Thereâs a place literally feet away with an impressive selection of beer. Iâd come for a flight(if you must come) just to try them but Iâd skip the burgers. Iâm not sure about the other food. But we left feeling we couldâve spent our money at another place. The hours are wrong on TripAdvisor. They take cards thatâs a plus.

This is the perfect place to go if you want some traditional Oaxacan food with a bit of a Spanish flair, and you want a more trendy atmosphere than hanging out in the markets. They offer tons of mezcal and mezcal-based cocktails, it's difficult to choose. We were there on a Tuesday night and they had a really good singer/guitarist performing there (and the volume was good, we could still talk to each other), not sure if they have someone every night or not. It has a really good vibe, mostly a lot of younger Mexicans, but plenty of travelers as well. The staff are friendly too, and the prices are very affordable. For drinks we had the Chayoyazo, which was a little spicy but still really good, and the Tehuana Borracho, which was very refreshing and goes down easy. They serve a lot of different small plates, like tapas style, so we shared a few of those. We tried the Papas Bravas for fun, they were very good but also very different if you're used to the Spanish style. We also had the Tacos de Corral, which were kind of like a taquito (rolled up w/chorizo, cheese and guac then pan fried) and they were delicious. Then we had the Memelitas Tipicas, which was our least favorite, but they were good with a bit of the bravas sauce. For dessert we had the chocolate cake served with beet & mezcal, and it was amazing. The mezcal made it nice and moist.I definitely recommend coming here at least one evening during your visit. It was pretty busy when we were there, but we had no trouble getting a table for two as a walk-in.Thank you very much for your visit, Oaxaca welcomes you. Thank you for your opinion, we are pleased to know that you had a nice time. We wait for you soon, to take some mezcales.
