Went there for break'fast recently. Food was great. Service was outstanding. The guy they call old glass jaw, Steven, was our waiter. He did an ultra great job. Keep up the good work.

Brunch Spot in downtown Sydney and the headquarters of The Mermaid Food Truck, which you can find all over Cape Breton. Dedicated to local ingredients & good food for everyone!
was disappointed after reading the glowing reviews for this restaurant. we arrived on wednesday Aug 8 shortly after 8 am. there were 3 items on the hand written menu at the counter...eggs benedict, a breakfast sandwich and yogurt and granola. the eggs benedict was not available until 9 am due to the hash browns not being ready. sandwich was ok, very heavy since it was on a cheese tea biscuit, and the yogurt could not be an issues since it was yogurt, granola, grapes and honey.I'm sorry we couldn't make you happy on your last visit. I hope you try us out again and we can make it up to you.

We picked our table and waited for menus. The friendly waitress asked if we wanted menus and we did since we were not there before. After receiving our meals, hamburgers, french fries and onion rings, we realized we picked poorly. The hamburgers did not seem fully cooked and were not homemade. The onion rings and fries were just ok.Maybe we should have picked the specials or just not have come to this place.

Our motel did not serve breakfast and the receptionist recommended Kay's. It certainly did not disappoint. The serving of pancakes was huge and very enjoyable. Service was excellent. Loved the atmosphere of an old fashion dinner.

On our trip returning to Sydney from Louisbourg, we stopped at a gas station only to fill up the gas tank. While paying for the gas, I noticed Mollyâs Diner inside and decided it was worth a try. What a find! The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The servers were friendly and helpful. The menu is variedâall day breakfasts, pizzas, sandwiches, fish and chips, etc. Well worth a visit! You could easily drive past this little gem but I would certainly recommend stopping and filling up more than just your gas tank!
