We've been going to the Spitfire for years, and always enjoyed the experience, even when they had to temporarily relocate due to a fire some years back. We hadn't been there for quite a while, and yesterday decided to go there for lunch. As always, the wait staff was friendly and efficient. The rest, not so much. We ordered soft drinks which we both agreed were watery. The liver, in my husband's liver and onions consisted of one very thin slice that was overcooked; and undercooked broccoli. Carrots were fine. Mashed potatoes OK. My Reuben was dry, not juicy, and the fries were under par. And the bill was $38. We're sad to see how a well-loved local pub is going through a mediocre period. We'll try it again, but not too soon.

I visit the schoolhouse brewery quite often, as I work in Windsor and they have an excellent lunch menu. During the summer my favorite dish was the Asian Peanut Salad (served cold) and various cheese grilled cheese. They also make a home brewed lemon ginger soda that is super refreshing on a hot day!Very neat school-ish atmosphere complete with texts, globes and chalkboards, and attentive and friendly staff. I highly recommend this restaurant!Ps- their beer is good too, and cleverly named ârecess Pilsner, principal ale etcâ

Went here for dinner and were happy to find a great restaurant in the Windsor area. Service was great and food was very good (I had the mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potato fries and hubby had nachos). Restaurant was clean and so were bathrooms. There aren't a lot of good drop-in-grab-burger-and-beer restaurants around here so this is a pleasant addition. Hope they stick around!

Had a great evening with family on a Tuesday night. The service was prompt and friendly and the food above what we epected. The server made great suggestions about the wings which were appreciated.Went again with my Mum for lunch the next day and had the chowder and again was pleased with the portion and the flavor. Will be making this a regular spot.
