Both visits featured very good service and the breakfasts were scrumptious! The banana bread French Toast was simply mouth-watering. The Diddle's breakfast with sausage was very tasty as well. They're not shy with the coffee here, a very nice touch! We'll of course be back!Thank You!

No Quarter Deli & Market

Reviewed By elizabethHalifax

Went for dinner last Thursday. We were seated promptly. Very nice server. Brought us water right away. Took our drink order and drinks were delivered quickly. Our food order was taken after our drinks were served. There were quite a few empty tables in the restaurant. There was one table of 8. Appeared to be plenty of servers. Our order took a very long time to be served. Then one of the orders wasn’t cooked thoroughly. Had to be returned to the kitchen. It appeared that the kitchen had trouble getting the orders out within a reasonable amount of time. Our server told us the large table was holding things up in the kitchen. I believe the kitchen needs to be more organized. Food was good but kitchen slow.Hi, I just read your review of my sandwich shop No Quarter Deli & Market. I think you may have been making a review of a different business. we don't have waiters, no table service or a dinning room. it is a small shop with a window rail and 3 small tables for two, we could never fit 8 people at the same table. Our sandwiches are prepared at the service counter and all orders are served in take away containers. there is no kitchen, no hot meal and we do not offer any kind of dinning experience. please revisit this review and feel free to drop by No Quarter and let me know what you think of our sandwiches and grocery items. i welcome your future review of No Quarter but please address this review to the proper recipient.

Rita's Tea Room & Gift Shop

Reviewed By Robert G

Rita's Tea Room was on our "bucket list" of places to visit while in Cape Breton as we admit to being minor fans of Rita's music. Our objective at our late lunchtime visit (in mid-week when it was quiet) was afternoon tea for two, which we thoroughly enjoyed. This place proved to be quite astonishing. While the food was fine, it is the whole ambience that is the reason for coming. Charlotte, our friendly and knowledgeable server, made us feel "at home" in this homely setting in which, while displays of Rita's life and career abound and to one side is a gift shop, it is a beautifully maintained and comfortable tea room that in its entirety acts as a tribute to the performer. We were here for more than two hours. Give yourself time to enjoy all that it offers.

Seems to be a real favorite of people heading up towards Sydney. I ate here a couple of years ago with my family and stopped again with friends on the way to Sydney to catch the ferry to Nfld. We all had the fish and chips ( fries). The fish was cod and very good. There were tons of fries with it too. I had the two piece dinner, but a three piece dinner with the fries would have been enough for two. Very good. I will eat here again if given the chance. Cost was about $13 - I think.

We had lunch here on our way around the Cabot Trail. My wife had a lobster and she loved it. I had the Bayside Fettuccine which was huge and delicious but I started with the chowder which was not very good. Excellent service from Diane made it a very pleasant experience. We would come back.

We arrived at Meat Cove late in the afternoon and were initially told that there were no more campsites left, but they managed to squeeze us and our little tent in at "the last" spot left - a great little spot, actually, on the cliff near the bushes, with a great view of the ocean. We ate dinner at the restaurant (fish cakes with beans and slaw/fish sandwich with fries) and enjoyed it very much. The serving staff were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms had recently been renovated and they were very clean, plenty of hot water, and still smelling like the wood that they were built from. This really is a slice of paradise. Best views off the Cabot Trail. Very relaxing, so much so that we blew off our second travel day and just hung out, spending a second night there. The restaurant was closed the second day, but there is a small supermarket about 8 km away. There are no hookups for RVs, so come self-sufficient. The hiking trail was neat and provided a great view of the coastline and the campground itself. Definitely worth a visit or an overnight.Thank you for leaving a review for Meat Cove Campground. Stop by for a yummy bowl of chowder or fish cakes and beans at any time! We are so glad you liked your visit!
