Went here with friends for a celebration meal, hoping for something special but it was dreadful. The restaurant is nicely decorated and quaint but that is the best bit.I can only presume that those that have rated it Excellent had a very different menu to us. Maybe we were just unlucky on the night but as there is no choice whatsoever, we were lumbered with it.Starters of artichoke, whelks and large cubes of beef fat(!) was not a great way to kick off. Then cold, runny, apparently fried, egg with eel, then the main course of veal - which was passable. Don't go here feeling hungry because there is not enough food to satisfy a manly appetite, even though you take a 4 or 5 or 7 course option. The best bits were the amuse-bouche and the grapefruit and coffee sorbet. The dessert was fine. We have all lived in the Perigord for over 10 years so know & love the perigordine food but this felt like the chef was mixing flavours and ingredients just to be "arty". Not to our taste at all. I think you have to be a very adventurous diner to come away happy. Cordialement.Catell K.

I started writing this review when I was still at the restaurant, while waiting forever for each one of the three courses of my meal to be delivered, in a service that took around 2 hours and 30 minutes to be completed. And for that I must add that this service was the SLOWEST I have EVER got in my 49 years of living and numerous trips made all around the world. We arrived at the restaurant at 19h40, and had our three-course menu ordered by no later than 20h. We then asked the chef himself for the wine list, who said it would come right away, but was brought to us only at 20h40, five minutes AFTER the starter (entreé) had been served. At 21h10 the main course arrived at our table, and at 21h50 the dessert was served. And we finally left the restaurant at around 22h10. No coffee, thanks! And it was NOT because weâre slow eaters. After we finished eating each dish, they would take more than 15 minutes just to take the plates away, and some 30-40 minutes to bring the next course. Unbelievable!Notwithstanding the effort, efficiency and amability of the only waitress serving at tables, and the pleasure of my partnerâs company, almost all I could feel towards this dining experience was bored, annoyed and finally sleepy. Now a QUICK although obvious TIP to the restaurant owner and/or chef: if they expect or intend the service to be slower than normal (compared to other restaurants), or if they have any problem with absentee staff, they should warn their customers in advance, right in the beginning, so as to allow them to decide by their own if they wouldnât mind waiting that long to have their meal served. This is because people may have other plans for the night after having had dinner, or may have relatives waiting at home for them to get back (kids, parents, etc.). Or simply because they may not want to wait so long to have something to eat. This âwarningâ is something Iâve seen being done in a couple of fine/elegant restaurants that Iâve been to. And it worked quite well!As to the other aspects, the place has indeed a good value for money and a fairly nice ambiance, and thatâs why I rated 3/5 instead of 2/5. Anyway, in my opinion these aspects are only two of the many that should be taken into consideration when reviewing a restaurant.

We opted for this restaurant a couple of times as they served food before 19:00. Food was pretty good but there were way too many mussels, wish they had offered a starter portion. Service was very quick and the waiters were friendly too. Prices were reasonable.. Probably not the best restaurant in town but would not hesitate to recommend.

Only open during the summer season but serves a variety of salads, wraps and quiches. We had the light menu (9.50â¬) which was a base of either lettuce, pasta or quinoa with 4 toppings from a large selection such as chicken, prawns, Spanish ham, hard boiled eggs, sweet corn, grated carrot, lentils, cheese (many sorts) etc etc etc. This formula comes with a drink and a desert. The strawberry tart was delicious! Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Outdoor and indoor seating available. I would definitely recommend for a cheap and cheerful lunch.
