I dined here with five friends, one who is vegetarian. During our stay in La Rochelle, this was the first restaurant who actually accommodated my vegetarian friend - great effort was made to serve something delicious other than pulsed vegetables!! Excellent avocado and prawn starter and the fish burger was sooo delicious. Wonderful service too.

We booked a table which wasn't necessary midweek in June but could well be in high season. We were shown immediately to a convenient table in the covered outside area (you can eat outside, in the area where we were or in the main salon). The evening was not warm enough to eat outside so our location was a good compromise and the overhead heating a very pleasant addition to our comfort. The menu was clear and the waiter well informed about the options and extremely pleasant and helpful with a lovely sense of humour. As you would expect the menu was dominated by fish dishes but there were other options. Starters arrived in good time and were tasty with interesting combinations of flavours. The main courses were a pave of cod and a filet of bass. The cod was good but the bass was even tastier. We had an economical bottle of sauvignon which was a good compliment to the dishes. We did not have deserts. The coffee rounded up a very enjoyable meal.

Old fishing hut transformed into panoramic restaurant with beautiful views of the island of Ré. Local cuisine based on fish and fresh produce primarily from local producers, grilled fish, Charron mussels (in season) , crustaceans , oysters from Re island,
Serving mainly local french clientèle, this quaint cosy cliff side restaurant overlooking the Pont du Ré serves mostly freshly cooked and griddled seafood such as mackerel, sardines, mussels, squid and whelks. There is usually a roast meat option for those who do not eat seafood, but I would say that this restaurant is not going to be suitable for those who dont like seafood, or don't want to speak french. Atmosphere, well the open fireplace keeps the chill away on cooler nights, and for sunny days theres plenty of seating outside, and the view of the Ile de Ré is fabulous. Prices vary from 8⬠a plate of sardines or mackeral, up to 14 euros for squid a la créme. Order a side of fries to go with your food, they are always crisp and hot, and all your food is served with tasty poppy seed bread and butter. The restaurant has started to organise evening dinner boat trips from la Vieux Port in La Rochelle to Port Lauziere, including dinner from 55â¬. You must reserve as the restaurant is nearly always full.

Really surprising find, when your approaching you think your on the wrong road as its in the industrial estate near the quayside miles from anywhere retail, however once inside its a well oiled professional restaurant.not posh but nice .We opted for the buffet at 34 euro which meant unlimited crab langoustine prawns soup. Etc. All were delicious. Nothing to dislike here unless you don't like fish!

The staff here are very friendly and jolly which give the place a good atmosphere. We were originally seated outside but realised it wasn't as warm as we thought it was, so they let us move inside with no issues. The food was excellently cooked and was traditional French bistro style as were the deserts. Will happily return here again.

Just one block from the old market, among many restaurants, this cosy place is a good option. The cuisine is excellent, unfortunately the service is not up to the same level. There were 4 waiters plus the owner, all moving around trying to look important, but not very professional. I has to repeat twice my order for an obvious lack of coordination, and they forgot part of it.

After reading reviews we came here to try the enormous seafood platter, they were accommodating with regards to allergies, service was slick, the seafood excellent and very fresh, all while eating outside. The wine was very good too. Highly recommend.
