I really wanted to like this little restaurant, mainly because I wanted to find something to like about the staggeringly dreary town of Arcachon. But also, these small restaurants tucked away from the beaten track are often some of the best.My lunch was alright. That's the best I can say about it. It was inoffensive. But then, in France, I have rarely eaten a meal that was less than 'alright'. So I was somewhat disappointed. On the plus side, it was very friendly and very inexpensive. The other reviews here seem entusiatic so, who knows - maybe I was unlucky in the dishes I chose or perhaps it was not their best day.

I was reluctant to go there as it was the first restaurant on the beach and feel like it was going to be a tourist trap...wrong. Service was great and food was very good.A good experience there. Weâll return if we come back in town.

Had lunch here while our children played below on the beach. Oysters, prawns, pate and wine were very good and reasonable.

My wife and I together with our daughter and two grandchildren had lunch here. There are several of this type of restaurant along the Arcachon frontage but having sampled most of the others, we liked this one the most. As well as the usual fayre of mussels done in numerous sauces, they also have some really good fresh fish. We had some excellent cod and the children had really tasty pizzas. For dessert we had café liegeois, a beautiful version of this popular sweet, a colonel and the children had ice cream. Service is efficient and friendly and unlike some of the other sea front restaurants, the tables are reasonably well spaced apart, so you can dine in some comfort. Although this is a large restaurant on the seafront, you will probably have to wait for a table if you come at lunchtime after 12.30pm. When we left at 2.00pm the queue was still 6 or 7 people long.We paid â¬125 for three adults and two children not including drinks and felt this was good value for money given the quality of the food and the position of the restaurant right on the seafront.

The " Oyster bar " of the Market of Arcachon welcomes you all year long. The Oyster Bar proposes the apéritive tasting of Olivier LABAN, oyster farmer, producer and breeder of the oyster Arcachon - Cap Ferret. à la carte also; shrimps BIO, whelks terrine
On our way to Dune du Pilat, we stopped by Arcachon to walk around and have lunch. We parked at the Indigo Parking lot at the Gare Train Station for less than 2 hours for 3 euros. We stopped by L'Oyster for lunch at around 1:30 pm on a Wednesday. They were still crowded even though it was past prime lunch hour. They gave us a table and we ordered a platter of seafood for 20.50 euros.6 oysters4 shrimpsWhelksJar of TerrineThe oysters and shrimp were really good. We are used to eating oysters from the US. These oysters tasted a little on the salty side but a pleasant level of saltiness. I was really surprised by the shrimp. It had a hint of sweetness that was surprisingly good. I didn't really like the whelk as much but the terrine was really good with the bread. We also had 3 glasses of white wine for 3.20 euros each. All in all, our seafood lunch was super affordable. We really enjoyed our fresh seafood and the service was friendly even though we speak no french.Thank you for you message ! Really !

So relaxing an environment with the absolutely best tasting oysters I have ever eaten.. the outdoor atmosphere promotes an energy and friendliness that is immediately established... Arcachon Bay is right there before your eyes and the restaurant setup promotes a backyard feeling with friends... Do not miss this very special experience

We wanted to have fresh oysters for dinner in Arcachon, and were looking around trying to decide where to eat. The guy at the restaurant told me that they are producer of oysters (if I understood correctly with my poor French), so we decided to eat here. Coming from Japan (that also produce oysters to be eaten fresh), we wanted to eat good ones. He did not disappoint us!! Very fresh and very good oysters! We also had boiled shrimps, a salami & cheese platter and some white wine from Bordeaux. The price was very reasonable. They do not speak English, but try their best to explain & show what it is. For example, when I asked what the difference between no. 2 oysters and no. 3 oysters on the menu (i could figure that it is the size), the waiter brought actual oysters in different sizes to show us.

We ate here one evening whilst staying near Arcachon. The tables were on both sides of the street and although we were relatively early most tables were full or reserved. The very friendly staff found one spare table for us. As some of the nearby shops shut the staff added a few more tables but these soon filled up.The service was excellent as were the meals we had. Two of us had one of the fixed menus that had a galette to start and a crepe to follow. The meal also include a cup of cider all for a very reasonable cost. The remaining two members of the group had a la carte items from and these were also great. We would definitely eat here again.
