My husband and booked this place for lunch on a day trip to this lovely townWe both had The chefs selection. Oh wow !!!! Every dish was a taste sensation. Delicate flavours and lovely presentation The staff were very understanding of our lack of French and helped us with a wine selection You couple all this with the view and the value for money and it was a great experience

What is there not to like about this wonderful restaurant. We had the Taloa galettes they were great and so very tasty. The greeting and warm welcome from the lady was lovely. Her and the man were nice and smiley. I recommend anyone to go here. We had a super view of the sunset over the sea.

Friendly servers and there is not a better place to be around St. Jean de Luz when the moon is rising over the hills. The restaurant is located on the port and there is no car traffic allowed here during the day but parking is allowed in the evening. Lovely walks around the walls to walk off the meal. My scallop dish was very good

Reasonably priced Michelin star restaurant with nice atmosphere and great food. We had the asparagus and octopus plates which were all excellent, well presented and with several other refined accompainments. Topped it off with the Grand Marnier soufflé. Unless you are a very picky eater, you can't go wrong in here if you got the budget.

We came here because a French friend said it was a must and it did not disappoint. The food was really good and very interesting. It is great to be in a restaurant where they are trying so hard to give you a really good meal with excellent service at a reasonable price. The young couple deserve every success as they are so charming and both really talented in what they do. The restaurant was not full but it has atmosphere. Our dog decided to be a bit cranky and everyone thought it was so funny even though we found it a bit embarrassing. The menu was not huge but all very tasty and well cooked. The young lady who took care of front of house suggested a great wine and provided excellent knowledge of the menu. Centrally located and easy to walk by, we probably would have if not told about it but so glad we went in.

We found out Bantu Chez Mattin by chance as we were staying just 5 mins along the same street for a 3 day break. Our host recommended this and also Maitinea - also worth a visit. We managed to get a table for our last night and on a Wednesday evening in September it was still full. The food is jus superb and worthy of all the reviewsWe had the millefeuille - layers of foie gras, smoked trout and thinly sliced green apple and also the Japanese ravioll stuffed with black pudding served with langoustine tails. Both delicious! For mains we had the turbot - served expertly by the waitress.Too full for desert.Despite what other reviewers have said about no English spoken, whilst the waitresses donât speak English the lady owner, who introduces the specials each evening, speaks perfectly good English and will help those having difficulty understanding the menus.Just canât recommend this more highly, one of the best restaurants Iâve been in!

Try this place out- it's a 5 minute walk from the beach of Socoa (plage de Socoa).Nice conservative looking place- bright and handsome. The food is absolutely fab! I wish I had taken some photos. Had appetizer (fois poele), Maigre avec Palourdes and Risotto for the main followed by a a delicious dessert. The wine was perfect and the hostess was very very pleasant. We will return in the summer to take advantage of their lovely terrasse to eat with a view of the Untxin river. Great place for special events

We were expecting a good quality meal at this restaurant but were not prepared to have a gourmet meal at the very modest price we paid. Highlights included the "oeuf croustillant", which was a combination of delicious flavours on one plate including the eponymous egg, and delicious veal served with fantastic aubergine puree that went really well with the meat. Desserts were good but less memorable. Add to that dinner on a beautiful terrace overlooking the countryside and charming staff and this place really won us over. You need a car to get here (or you could take a taxi): the upshot is it is not overrun with tourists like most local restaurants.

... actually got a nice one, but a bit on the hard side and definitely not at the level of others had in the area. Overall enjoyable dinner, big portions and a very nice athmosphere.

We stopped in Hondarribia for the morning and decided to hop across to Hendaye on the navette. The beach was beautiful but very loud with a kids camp thing going on, so we headed back to the marina and this creperie. Great choice of galettes and crepes, or formules with other options if you don't want a crepe. Wider choice of soft drinks than in Spain and a great Kir Breton (or Basque if you really like their acidic and rough sort of cider). Nice staff and a great experience. 76 Euros all in for 2 courses, drinks and coffee for 4 hungry people.. Merci beaucoup. PS the navette is very busy between Hendaye and Hondarribia at lunchtime. Be prepared for a wait.
