Having been to this restaurant many times over the last 15 years and always enjoyed first rate meals with really good service, would've said this was one of the best restaurants in the region. Forget all the previous good reviews that you see, this place now is absolutely awful. The service is appalling. We waited one hour for our starter. The plates from the tasting dish were never removed ! The owner scowled at the waiters to remove the plates as he was holding our starters. The soup was definitely out of a can.. Waited five minutes longer after multiple signals to get a spoon for the soup !. The eggs with truffles for â¬27 were a joke. The mushrooms for â¬25 were truly disgusting. They were fried mushrooms with pieces of burnt toast..... It was Saturday night and all the tables were full, no one in the restaurant was satisfied. You could see the look on peoples faces, you could cut the atmosphere with a knife. The service was totally shambolic and the food was disgusting. The prices remain the same from the previous owners, who were of course delivering incredible food. If you feel my review is a little harsh, wait a few months and watch the terrible reviews pour in....... The bill was â¬115 for two people with one glass of house wine !!! There was no question of anyone asking us if we enjoyed the meal, no thank you, no please come again, nothing. A real clip joint.

We had Sunday lunch at Auberge de Layotte and had a wonderful meal. It was a menu of traditional Périgueux offerings and everything was outstanding. We were very happy with the service as well as the food. Thank you for a wonderful meal.

The tables were set out in a courtyard behind the hotel with several large trees giving it a great atmosphere. The staff were attentive and knowledgable and the menu was classical French with some great modern ingredients added. The sturgeon and pate appetizer was amazing and the poached pear with strawberries and blackberries is a must. Great food, great ambience, great staff. A thoroughly enjoyable meal and somewhere we will definitely be going back to.

We arrived in Les Eyzies mid evening, late season and found a good meal and good wine. we tried a kir chataigne as apero and found it a little tasteless at it was made with the 'spirit' and not the ordinary fortified wine as is normal in kirs. although there is only 2% or so different in alcohol the spirit doesnt give the slightly offbeat taste that we like. The waitress was a little off in the discussion but brightened up and we had a good interesting meal with a view of a floodlight on the cliff above which was cleverl;y done

I agree with the others who say the wait is extremely long. The food is good but it doesn't justify the incredibly long wait. The maitre d'hotel was very rude. When we politely inquired about the wait, he told us that the kitchen doesn't use microwave implying that we knew nothing about good food and did not belong there. We are both highly qualified professionals, have travelled all over the world dining in great restaurants. Never before have we been treated with such contempt.Chère Madame,Merci pour votre commentaire.J'avouerai qu'habituellement, mon humour "pince sans rire" fait marrer la plupart des clients. Vous êtes tous là pour passer un bon moment, et j'essaie (mais desfois... çà marche pas) de détendre l'atmosphère et de mettre une bonne ambiance.Pour le coup, cela n'a pas fonctionné cette fois ci.Je vais donc plaider coupable et apporter par ma présente réponse mes plus grandes excuses si mon humour ne vous a pas convaincu. Et en aucun cas, mon but n'était de dénigrer votre professionnalisme et encore moins de mépriser votre si grande connaissance gastronomique.Ceci étant dit, concernant le temps d'attente du service, mon rôle de Maître d'hôtel au sein du restaurant (n'est pas que de faire des blagues mais) est aussi, d'avertir mes clients du temps que cela peut prendre de préparer leur plats chauds en direct (lorsque qu'aucune entrée froide n'est commandée avant) et de ce fait, de l'attente qu'il y aura pour commencer à manger.

We arrived on a Saturday late afternoon. The waiter guided us to our table at the far end of the outside terrace. During five minutes, nothing happened. While our neighbouring table was served, I kindly asked for the menu. Nothing happened. Meanwhile our neighbours had finished their main dish and the table was cleaned. Another nice sign from our side to get a menu (or at least to order an apero). In vain. Meanwhile people who came in after us, were already eating. At our side, nothing happened. When our neighbours asked for the bill, we left.... A disaster. A complete unprofessional service.

We had a lovely meal in the bistro at Les Glycines. The service from the highly professional and courtrous staff was superb, unobtusive and very efficient. The bistro menu offers greag value and we had the burger and steak with a pleasant Bergerac wine. The wine list is extensive. The environment is charming and welcoming in a large conservatory built onto the front of the old hotel building. We are looking forward to returning and maybe trying the spa which we caught a glimpse of and looks fantastic.

Super lunchtime menu sur la terrace entrée plat dessert for 26⬠served by dynamic young team, very professional yet relaxed.Only regret is that wines served by the glass should be poured from the bottle in front of the client. Not for any suspicious reason but to promote the winemaker who is pressed to give price breaks in exchange for promotion. So please promote these wines. Nice to see a touch of seafood in this terroir carnivore. Will return and recommend

On Tuesday, July 9, we took our family from the United States to La Maison in Les Eyzies for a wonderful dinner served be Jérôme Felitin. As usual, the service was impeccable as was the presentation and quality of the food. A particular couple seated close to us decided to be rude and announced that the bread and food were microwaved. Not true at all. The bell they heard was the cash register. La Maison is a 5 star gem in the quaint town of Les Eyzies.
