Was not given the double room paid for apparently a problem with it I was offered a discount !! But could say how much - So was given alternative single room was shown to the room with no help with heavy case was then told there was no bath towels because the laundry hadn’t arrived - so would bring it later which was then left outside the door later in the evening on a dirty floor - was informed by site that there would be food - there was not - so had to walk to nearest pub for my evening dinner after a long day at work - the tap in the tiny WC was hanging off - the shower cupboard had no light - the bed was poorly dressed and only had one flat pillow the very large tv had no programmes saved so no tv - the room smelt of mould - and the carpets were dirty the shower also was not clean Very upsetting as the reviews were fairly okay I was disgusted and DO NOT recommend any one ever stays here The breakfast wasn’t great either and had to just GET OUT and find somewhere else to stay

Best Roast Dinner after your Mum's

Reviewed By M639MFemmab

Thoroughly enjoyed a hearty and wholesome home cooked roast lamb dinner with my partner here today. Hospitality was friendly and relaxed with beautiful surroundings views of the rolling landscapes. The food itself was 5☆ generous thick sumptuous lamb, loaded with crispy roast potatoes and we counted 9 other types of vegetables! Gravy was to die for and Yorkshire pudding laughed at Toby carvery dried tasteless boulders. Outstanding value for money for under £9 and of excellent quality-a must visit for anyone who appreciates a good roast to finish the week off. The best part, they allowed us to dine with them, even though we weren't staying at the campsite :)

Tomahawk Steakouse Ponteland

Immaculate Room, friendly staff, amazing food.

Reviewed By Fotogrrluk

We decided to stay here on a whim via a deal we spotted last minute. We stayed Easter Monday night and booked room 4, ‘Holy Island’. On entering the venue we were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our room within a few minutes. The room was beautiful and immaculately clean. A big roll top bath in the corner and a large shower in the en-suite was such a treat. Couldn’t fault the room at all apart from one tiny issue with the shower head which was an easy fix and we reported this on our checkout. We dined in the restaurant and have been to Tomahawk on Newcastle Quayside a number of times, this didn’t fall to impress and in fact, dare I say it but it was even better. We went for the sharing board which my partner was reluctant to have as he didn’t think it could be better than the last one we had - well, he was wrong and couldn’t even finish his share. Service was a little slow but it was clear they weren’t expecting it to be so busy and were a tad short staffed. This didn’t bother us as we were staying upstairs. A little cock-up with the drinks but again, easily rectified. Will definitely be looking to go back and explore the menu further. Would 100% rebook room 4 again.

Great Thai meal at the Boathouse

Reviewed By pauline w

Had a really delicious meal at the Boathouse. Good portions and friendly staff . Had to ask for a doggie bag as so much . Reasonable prices . It isn’t a restaurant as we expected , food served in a room off the bar . We had soup and spring rolls for starters followed with Pad thai . Couldn’t fault it . Delicious ?

Chesters Stables

The fully renovated Chesters Stables started life in 1891 as part of the Chesters Estate. Reborn in 2018, these seven self-catering Stable Suites now rest amid the landscaped Walwick Hall Country Estate with a Boutique Hotel and intimate Spa as neighbours. From generous mezzanine floors with large glass frontages to original stable detailing dividing the living space, each Stable Suite is unique in design and individual in taste. Each of the seven luxury Stable Suites benefit from a private entrance, and all have access across a grassed path to Walwick Hall Hotel and the wider estate. While elements of the Stable Suites are unconventional, inside everything you’d expect from a luxury bolt-hole come as standard; king-sized bedrooms all with en-suite baths, living areas with toe-warming wood-burning stoves, a country-style kitchen with dining areas where guests can rustle up everything from leisurely breakfasts to intimate candlelit meals.

We stayed Inn The Clock Tower to celebrate our Wedding Annivery with our family. It was beautifully decorated, large luxury accommodation. We were welcomed with a pack which included local baking free range eggs hand made chocolates wine etc., a lovely personal touch. The accommodation was very well equipped and had everything we could possibly need. It's perfectly located to explore the local area and had maps to guide you on local walks via the Crown Pub which is excellent. We dined at Walwick Hall which is a 10 minute walk along a busy road (somewhat scary in the dark). We had use of their pool and leisure facilities all of which were excellent. On the Friday we hired a large taxi to take us to Corbridge to a fabulous Indian restaurant called The Valley - which was utterly gorgeous in every way again highly recommend. WE WILL BE BACK Thank you the team at Walwick Hall

Edwin Haven Bed and Breakfast

Superb B&B

Reviewed By Lynne C

One of the cleanest nicest B&B places I have ever visied. Nothing is too much trouble for Matt (owner) and he made our dog feel as welcome as us. Brilliant breakfast and the facilility to bring in you own take-aways for dinner is wonderful and makes the accomodation seem like a cross between your own cottage and a B&B. We felt it was unique so much so we have stayed twice recently and look foward to returning early next year.
