I suppose there’s a technical distinction between “broasted” chicken and “fried” chicken, but I’d have to go to the U.S. Patent Office to figure out what it is. The broasted chicken at Fischer’s is pretty good, although it’s sufficiently greasy that they thoughtfully provide you with a packaged wipe to use after you have finished your meal and gone through all your napkins.
The chicken dinner, well priced at $13.95, includes fries and cole slaw. The unadorned chicken offering at $9.95 is made up of four pieces, although, except for the wing and breast, I couldn’t clearly identify the other cuts. While chicken breast is often the most coveted piece, mine was a bit tough, dry, and stringy, although my wife was pleased with hers.
Wine prices, while fairly average, are no bargain, with undistinguished bottles starting at $23.00. That’s not off the charts, but it doesn’t match the low-pricing of the dinners.
We were initially seated in the back room at a table under the window. But, having soon been visited by numerous gnats, we moved to a nearby table that was marginally better in that respect. Surprisingly, the manager appeared shortly thereafter to open the window, thereby welcoming more unwanted winged creatures into the restaurant.
Like so many bar/restaurants, Fischer’s has virtually no soundproofing, so if you happen to be seated near loud neighbors — a condition that seems to be the norm these days — you won’t find the social atmosphere very conducive to conversation.

Historic building with small town charm. The aroma emanating from this place will draw you in. Best donuts in the area. Other pastries are to die for too. Must stop here when in Northport.

Two years ago my family and I came here often and really liked the food. Now we only go here for burgers and the fried perch and fries. The whitefish dinner used to be spectacular, but it seems they must have a new chef, because it's nothing like it used to be. Come here for the view and just get pub food. Then you won't be disappointed.

It's new this summer. Owner used to own The Eat Spot in the same city. They are on Facebook.
We stopped for an early dinner before going bowling at Tuckers. Had Pulled Pork and it was great. Drinks were good. It was raining out and we sat inside. Great help, great food, great environment.

The Tribune is just fantastic. The wait staff (and the folks in the kitchen) are congenial and delightful. With high-quality, clean, and largely local food, the cooks here craft a small but delightful assembly of great dishes. From the daily breakfast hash and daily (ever changing) omelette, through the salads and the sandwiches, the food is delicious and satisfying. In this humble reviewer's opinion, as someone who has eaten at some excellent places all over the world, this really is the best breakfast or lunch in all of Leelanau County, and maybe the best in northern Michigan. Don't miss it. Do come early in the high season (summer) because the restaurant is small and you may have a wait. Do wait though. This place is really worth your time.

American casual bistro and upscale pub food, upscale bowling and arcade venue, sports bar, craft beer, live music.
It seems they magically turn all the customers invisible because no one is willing to help or talk to you. The hostess was too busy clearing tables and the waitresses were way too busy talking to each other to bother thing with a customer. When we finally got served the food was warm but we were so happy to get out of there it didn't matter. We will not return. It's a nice looking restaurant and it's a shame that no one bothered to train the staff.

Made a quick drive up to Northport after seeing Mario Batali on a TV show. (others said the same thing) got a flight of 9 beers-all were pretty tasty. You can get a little containers of mixed nuts for $1 and free popcorn,
outside patio is nice, pet friendly. We did get tacos from the food truck Barrio Feedwagon out back. Thai shrimp and a pulled pork.
Great little stop
