The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present. The old town, centered at Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 14th-century São Francisco church is a main attraction, as are the local port wine cellars, mostly located across the river at Vila Nova de Gaia.

Local tapas food and wines. Products of small producers from all portuguese regions. Variety of cheese, typical sausages, traditional sweets, Oporto Wine, Tuna specialities and other delicacies.
Saw the reviews on this place that was just down the road from our Airbnb. What a great find! We skated in for a last minute happy hour special and then ordered a charcuterie plate and olives for our meal. Service was good and we had a wonderful assortment of meats and cheese. Highly recommend.

Read good reviews on trip advisor and was looking forward to experiencing this restaurant. Started out bad and got worse. Appetizer took almost half an hour to be served and was very ordinary. Main course took an hour and was small and overcooked. The chefâs friends had arrived in the back and things got very noisy and cooking was more or less abandoned. With so many amazing restaurants in Porto there is no need to tolerate this kind of service.

Folias de Baco is inspired by its origins in the cooler slopes of Douro Valley, a land naturally preserved, with amazing landscapes sculpted by a temperamental river and by hard workers, where the grapes and olive trees are the kings of an unique territor
Me and my friend stumbled across this restaurant the night we arrived in Porto. Despite the fact they were closing the kitchens soon they said they would keep them open so that we could eat here, which was brilliant and we really appreciated it. We ordered their set menu and it was AMAZING; included several cheeses, meats and breads as well as a few other menu items. It was all very delicious and we really liked the wine we had selected to have with our meal (also part of the set menu). Defintely worth the price, â¬30 for the both of us. The service was brilliant and the guy serving us was really helpful and friendly. Would reccomend eating here!

Passionate about wine?! Arco das Verdades gives you the chance to taste a great selection of portuguese northern wines and other national products, while enjoying the magnificent view over the Vila Nova de Gaia's cellars where our Port wine has been aging
This is a little gem of a restaurant: the food was lovely (great Octopus salad, good steak, nice desserts), the location is cool - along a narrow winding street with only a few tables inside, but with great views over Porto - very good prices. But what made it was the woman who served us, who made recommendations (loved her wine), kept everyone happy on her own (don't worry if you don't immediately get your order taken - she knows you're there!), and speaks at least Portuguese, English, French, a bit of German/Spanish... This would be the first place I would go back to if I returned to Porto.

We stopped in here while visiting Porto with friends. This little tapas bar is located on the quieter side of the bridge. Friendly service, good food. Excellent views of the bridge and riverside in the evening. Thanks a lot! Hope to see you again soon!

Our first tasting of Port & what a lovely place to try. Minutes from our rental home & such a pleasant, knowledgeable team & stunning location close to the Ponte Dom LuÃs bridge. All of our group were Port novices, so this helped us to get to-try many variants of Port on the tasting menu. We loved the place, so we returned the following night when more friends arrived in the city.

We will be closed at the 24 and 25 December, and from the 31 of December till 30th of January of 2020.
We read so many great reviews about this place and it exceeded expectations. The wine list is phenomenal, especially the wines by the glass. Joana looked after us during our 3.5 hour stay here. We tasted so many lovely protuguese wines thanks to her recommendations. The view is so beautiful. Perfect place to hang out if you love wine. Come early for an outside table, it gets busy. Thank you Joana for making our experience memorable.
