It's new and I believe it has room for improvement. It is a large restaurant, much larger than the average of the Italian restaurants in the city of Viseu. The service is competent and the quality of the food too. It is necessary to improve some aspects that will naturally happen with the natural "maturity" of the restaurant.

This restaurant is one of three owned by the same business within close proximity to each other. The first was originally called Cacimbo which we patronised four years ago, and this is now called Cervejaria by Cacimbo. Churrasqueria by Cacimbo, also has a flourishing take away. Reviews follow for all.Mamma Isa is modelled on an Italian trattoria, and has been opened for two years. It has two levels, the upper level has a beautiful hand drawn mural of the Rialto Bridge, complete with a gondolier, which is extremely attractive. There is a separate play zone for children, which is screened from the main restaurant for quietness.We had the lasagne and a pizza, the latter Huge! Both meals being very enjoyable and served on hot plates. The accompanying mixed salad was also very good and well presented. Overall a very good dining experience at a very fair price.

I've come here since I was little. The "feijoada à brasileira" is my favourite dish but he pizza's are amazing too.Family style restaurant.

We went to this restaurant after a steady diet of fish and we were looking for something else. A nice 10 minute walk from our hotel to this pretty unassuming restaurant. Trip advisor reviews were very accurate. We ordered 4 dishes to share including a thin crust pizza and all were prepared very nicely. The owner served our table and she speaks good English. She and her staff are very accommodating to please.The wine selection was good and we found a nice bottle of red. By 8:30pm the restaurant had people waiting to get a table. Highly recommended. Nice hustle bustle local atmosphere .

I go there for lunch on occasion, this time decided to take the family...got there and the owner asks if we had a reservation, of course not...the place is completely empty by the way. So, he says, sorry we're totally booked...went by later, after having had pizza at Mamma Isa and the place is at 50% at best. So...I can only assume that he wouldn't let us in because the Mrs is black???Se não vos deixamos almoçar é mesmo porque estávamos com o restaurante todo reservado, o que felizmente acontece todos os dias, portanto não tem nada a ver com racismo ou outra coisa qualquer...foi realmente um comentário de muito mau gosto. Podem vir quando quiserem serão sempre bem vindos e bem recebido mas, reservem para não acontecer a mesma coisa.
