We were recommended Dy Michelys by a local however the pizzas were baked in an oven, not a wood fired oven. They were ok, but really nothing special. The waiters were very nice and service was good.

We wanted some light lunch to snack on during our day trip to Castro we decided on this cafe as they had tapas style options and I asked the waitress if they had everything that was on the menu and she confirmed. We ordered: grilled choriça, sautéed mushrooms, several soups, 3 toasted sandwiches, a plate of ham and cheeses, potatoes at Castro’s, gizzards in sauce, and can drinks. It didn’t start well when we were told after the order that there was no choriça. We asked for a tortilla instead. Then we were told there were no gizzards. A third time we were then told there was no tortilla... wondering if they didn’t have any eggs then?! So we tried one more time with little fried meat cakes (rissois). Two soups came on their own... people ate them... then two more arrived, cold so we took them back. Then the rest of the food came but the soups. The soup was nice and people who ate the toasted sandwich didn’t complain. The plate of cheese and meat was ok but lacked selection. The mushroom were tinned ones sautéed with onions, the potatoes were frozen chips topped with a thick layered of cheese and put in the oven. The rissois were still frozen in the middle and were sent back. Not a good experience at all. We went for coffee and cake and even a sandwich down the road straight after...Given the good reviews, maybe it was a bad day or a one off? I can’t explain it but our experience was just terrible, oh and the amount due was just announced like this with no bill so we had to ask... there weren’t many people inside but for example the toilets which were in good condition had zero toilet paper or hand paper.

At first this appears to be a very simple bar, but you can eat a good, honest pizza here. With a very wide offer of pizzas at a low price. The service was very pleasant and quick.
