Reviews on Mediterranean food in Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal. The town that gave the country (and port wine) its very name, Porto is Portugal’s second-largest metropolis after Lisbon. Sometimes called Oporto, it's an age-old city that has one foot firmly in the industrial present. The old town, centered at Ribeira, was built on the hills overlooking the Douro River, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 14th-century São Francisco church is a main attraction, as are the local port wine cellars, mostly located across the river at Vila Nova de Gaia.

What a find. We made a reservation by phone a day beforehand. Reserving a table is recommended and therefore will avoid disappointment. A small quaint restaurant which adds to the atmosphere along with the front of house who is highly attentive, funny and very welcoming without being over bearing. Service is impeccable which is matched by the good they serve. Meat is high on the agenda here and this is why we went. We went all out for the tomahawk steak at â¬53 and two sides of Vegetables and chorizo rice. We were not disappointed. Most of the dishes are sharing dishes for two and this choice was more than enough for us both. The steak was perfectly seasoned, veg perfect and the rice was beautiful. No room for deserts but others around us had deserts and the looked great. A couple of glasses of port on the house completed a memorable experience in this restaurant. All local restaurants could learn from Bota & Bira. This restaurant may not be large but the customer experience is top of their agenda from the service they provide to the food they serve. Thanks Bota & Bira for providing us with the best meal in Porto.

Familiar Italian Restaurant...
On my last night in Porto I finally wanted to have some pasta. After searching for a while this place come out on top. While I didn't have any pasta, I did enjoy my meal here. Service was quick and the waiters were all very friendly. I ended up ordering the melanzane alla parmigiana (eggplant parmesan). Don't have any real remarks on it. Eggplant was done well, sauce tasted good. The only thing I found a bit disappointing is that they didn't serve any tiramisu. If you're looking for some taste food at a fair price, this is the place.Hi... Thank you for your feedback. Did you order any Tiramisu?? We have it and it's amazing... Try next time ;)

Italian restaurant with a spanish influence with passion and curiosity for all the world great dishes.. A place with a warm atmosphere and a unique concept
The second we stepped in the door we were impressed with the fantastic service - the owner ran up the street to return a dinerâs forgotten umbrella, then seated us without a reservation, no problem! After the wonderful dishes and genuine, caring and knowledgeable service, we were so impressed and hope to come back in a few nights. Get the house salad, the veal with pepper cream sauce, and carbonara - highly recommend. Canât decide which was better: the food or the service!

Wandered in at random without a reservation, and were completely blown away by the fantastic food and terrific service. The menu is small plates, meant to be combined & shared; very thoughtful and delicious reimaginings of traditional Portuguese dishes. It was so good, we returned with a friend and were able to verify that it wasn't a fluke! My suggestion is that if you have any questions on food or wine, let Leandro decide - especially the wine, he'll pick the best possible selection for your dinner. We look forward to returning on future visits to Porto, and wish them all the best!Thank you Phil G, we hope see you soon.

Typical portuguese atmosphere, calm and air-conditioned, with a range of options of the best regional dishes that can be found in Porto. Staff dedicated to serving you well and affordability.
After reading all of the great reviews for this restaurant, we were eagerly anticipating an excellent meal. Both of us were very disappointed with our food however, as we found that our dishes were very salty and oily. The portions were quite large , but we found the taste to be ordinary. I must say that the owner was very friendly, but despite this, we would not go back.

DAMA pe de cabra is a PETISQUEIRA restaurant where you can have an experience of exquisite Portuguese flavours, thanks to its recipes of PETISCOS (a very tasty delicacy, culinary preparation made with great care at the moment) elaborated with selected tra
This breakfast and lunch restaurant is truly wonderful. Beautiful home cooked exquisitely flavoured food. It was absolutely sensational. We had a fabulous lunch here. The attentive, friendly and welcoming owner explained each item on the menu. It was then cooked by his wife using her wonderful recipes. Delicious and succulent. we only wish we had found it at the start of our trip. Highly recommend the Petiscos which are served with salad. We added a side of fries, fresh orange juice (which was presented like a beautiful cocktail) and a delicious glass of wine. At peak times for lunch - after 1:30 - there could be a bit of a wait as the place is popular and the host is attentive to each guest. it is absolutely worth it though! We will remember this meal as a highlight of our trip to Porto.

A small, cozy, unpretentious and inclusive space, where everyone has an equally interesting and tasty option to taste. A house full of affection in every detail, created by a couple in love with good food and that goes on an eternal search for new combina
We sat at the bar and were so interested to watch the chef preparing the various tapas. The tapas were delicious and the presentation excellent. Have eaten all over the world and the tapas we had tonight were up with the best. We started with the Camembert with honey, garlic and parsley that had been lightly torched served in a metal bowl surrounded by lightly toasted homemade bread. Our second tapas was tuna tartare and we loved it. My husband has always been a little resistant regarding tartars but I had to fight him for every bite. A different presentation than I am used to with the tuna cut in 1/2 inch squares. It was delicious. Would have loved to sample so many more but had to stop as we were full. Such a lovely team we do wish them well. Hello, thank you for coming to our house and reviewing us. We are very happy that you enjoyed your experience with us. We hope to host you again in the future. Thank you for so many great compliments, it's truly a great recognition of our work.

We had a great selection of charcuterie. The choice is exceptional. We had some tempura along with braised dishes. The staff explained all the menu as many of the dishes we had not had before. Great selection of wines and beers to accompany the meal.
