We had a really nice lunch here after a morning of wine tasting. The food is classic/traditional Portuguese served in a modern setting. The wine list is very good. The service was excellent. The food was very good all around.

We found ourselves in Peso da Regua on a public holiday during a visit to the Duoro valley. We needed some lunch and found Limonete which was packed with local families enjoying a holiday lunch. We got the last table and where very glad we did. As we were looking at the menu we saw massive plates of food coming out to the happy families. We decided to share a pizza Bella Mama which was more than enough for two and it was loaded with everything you could wish for on a pizza - ham, sausage, mushroom, peppers, tuna , olives and about a dozen large prawns. Thought we should join in the holiday merriment and had a bottle of delicious vinho verde to wash it down.Delicious food, really friendly service and including a generous tip it came to 20 euros. So I revise my title to fantastic value.

Douro In in Ancede Portugal is an excellent place to eat. Waiter Joel was very knowledgeable and service was great. Owner was very friendly. They made our experience special. And the price was excellent. I would highly recommend this to people traveling in the area.

Modern platings of traditional Portuguese dishes were the highlight of the meal. A la carte offering allow guests to mix and match as they prefer. Large wine list, with a good selection of offerings by the glass. Service is disorganized and lacks professionalism, however. This place is busy due to its Michilin "plate" rating and reservations are recommended. Dinner service begins at 7:30 pm, although some web info states they are open from 10:30 am to midnight. No one on staff manned the door, so guests and potential guests were left standing around, unsure whether to help themselves to a seat or wait. Back terrace is pleasant although it overlooks the railway lines.

Modern restaurant inserted in the dock of CP, with a traditional but creative cuisine. It has in the Bísaro suckling pig its main dish.
SUS was recommended by our hotel as a great place for lunch and they were right! The best part was the wine pairing. The servers know their wines and now we do to!The breads were excellent as were the charcuterie and salads. Make this place a must if you are near Regua!Lots of parking nearby the train station...just remember to put a Euro in the parking meter!!

RESTAURANT The Wine House Hotel's restaurant is worth a visit on its own and an amazing gastronomic experience. With elegant, modern and sober decoration, its main area allows you to embrace the river with the view and immediately enjoy one of the best of
Make no mistake, this is one of the nicest meals in all of Portugal. Not cheap, but for tastfulness, and presentation, this is as good as it gets.I thought €3 per jug of water was a bit over the top, but otherwise, DELICIOUS!

After reading the great reviews, we decided to try the place.Tio Manuel greeted us at the table and brought us the standard bread and olives, which was delicious as the olives were drenched in delicious olive oul, in which we could soak the bread. Our waitress told my husband the fish of the day, which he ordered, and I once again ordered salmon, since it it my favorite fish and have had 2 wonderful experiences of delicious preparation in Portugal. My husband's dish came out first and we were pleasantly surprised to find green beans prepared nicely and delicious potato wedges. The fish, however ,was very dry, and may have been why they tried a mayonaise topping.A couple of minutes later, my salmon arrived, and not only was it the smallest salmon steak, I have ever been served, but it was almost as raw, as tuna should be served, once I got to the middle. And, btw, I would have complained, had Tio or the waitress ever come back to the table to ask how things were.as she cleated our plates, which had plenty of food left on it, she asked if we wanted dessert, not eben then, asking about the meal.Disappointing.

We have a different concept of original tapas with an exclusive chef. Our menu also covers children and vegatarians. We open this restaurant-bar without pretensions, pleasant atmosphere and the most important with quality gastronomy. We have an extensive
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The chef is quite experimental .....still serving traditional food...but with a twist. The cheese, olive tapenade and bread was delicious. The padron peppers were well cooked and seasoned but a star was the migas. Chestnuts in fried breadcrumbs with coconut. Then came the bacalao with clams (beautifully cooked), the octopus with nuts and garlic (well cooked, tender octopus but slightly bitter garlic) and black rice with raisins and parmesan (delicious). For wine we chose a zesty 100 Hectares, Codega do Larinho (white). All in all, great service, friendly staff, enjoyable, different food and great music (not too loud). Give it a try!

Restaurant was busy, but we really enjoyed watching all the large tables of locals and families loudly enjoying their time together. Waiter was very friendly and patient. He brought his father over to meet us at the end of our meal with a complimentary glass of port. Large servings of food cooked really well. We had grilled fish and steak. Reasonably priced. Would very much recommend.

The Loja do Covilhete de Vila Real is a restaurant space located in the historical center of Vila Real, made up of two floors, where the Covilhetes, a of minced beef pies that are so popular and representative of Vila Real cuisine, are the main attraction
Just had dinner at the Loja do Covilhete. The restaurant is very cozy and modern (apparently it only opened recently). The menu is just amazing and out of the 12 different "petiscos" (tapas) we ordered everything has exceeded our expectations.I do recommend the Covilhete de Vila Real (typical local meat pastry). The menu just leaves water in the mouth, with an extensive range of Samosas, Peixinhos da Horta (Green Beans covered in eggs), etc... The Pica Pau was top notch and so is the Montalegre Wine...amazing attitude wine from the Tras-Os-Montes region.I couldn't expect any more and can just highly recommend to everyone visiting Vila Real to visit this place...We where a group of four and ended up staying until midnight.Mario, the owner is also a great host. This place is a MUST!
