Every so often (hopefully not TOO often) you come across an establishment which you leave just feeling cheated. Upper Crust was one of those places.I had the âIrish Stewâ, which suffered from two main shortcomings â (1) the portion was TINY (in a little pudding dish); (2) it wasnât Irish Stew. Oh, and it was lukewarm. And £4.55 for what seemed to be a kiddiesâ portion.Words fail me. Irish Stew, if you donât know, contains very few ingredients: stewing steak or neck of lamb (not browned); onions; carrots; potatoes; salt, white pepper, and water. This concoction was made with MINCE, for Godâs sake â talk about cheapskate. The three tablespoons were just about edible, though lukewarm, having been served in a cold dish. And the coffee⦠well, again, the miserly attitude of the owner shone through: not so much coffee as warm water.I could go on, but you get the point.Terrible, donât go.As the owner I was very annoyed with your review, firstly we do not sell "Irish Stew", we sell homemade stew which is different and can be made using mince. If your Stew wasn't warm enough then our staff would have only been to happy to reheat the stew our if you choose to have something else, we would have replaced it. You haven't given us a chance to rectify the situation. With regards to your coffee, if it wasn't strong enough its up to you to ask for an extra shot, the staff always ask how you like your coffee when you are at the till. You made a comment about "the miserable attitude of the owner shone through", do you know the owner? Why would you make a personal comment like that? A very unfair comment to make. To say you felt cheated is an over exaggerated and in my opinion uncalled for.I would rather deal with a customers complaint there and then and make sure they leave our shop happy with the service they have received. Sometimes mistakes happen, but its how you deal with them is important.

Went here on Friday 10th March. Ordered the super healthy salad with Piri Piri chicken. Very disappointed with the meal. The chicken had been fried and was either a boned out leg or thigh which I hate. You would have thought for the price of £7.50 it would have been a breast. The avocado was past its best and most of it was brown. My friend's had baked potatoes which were lovely and came with lots of salad. The staff were lovely and the place is clean. So sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your Piri Piri chicken super salad - it does state on the menu that it is chicken thighs ( which is the most tender & succulent part of the chicken but I appreciate it is not everyone's choice ) - the chicken is marinated in a Piri Piri sauce and is then dry fried on the hot plate - ( although all our oils used for all our dishes are either rapeseed or olive oil ) I can only apologise for the avocado - they are brought in fresh every week but if it was brown then it should not have been served with your salad and would have been better to have left it off - unfortunately avocados go brown very quickly once they have been peeled - did you point this out to my staff at the time? I hope that this experience has not put you off and I thank you for bringing this to my attention so that we can strive to get it right in the future

Ruby's is a family Bar and Restaurant offering a varied menu. We have daily specials and serve breakfast at weekends.
Rubyâs has come on leaps and bounds recently. Just outside the town centre of Larne, there is plenty of parking. They are adding more and more deals during the week and they are great value. They now have a âBeat the Clockâ menu and a BOGOF offer from 12pm to 5pm. Food is great and good quality. Only improvement I would suggest is the entrance to the bar passes the toilets and there is a slight odour. But in the bar and restaurant area everything is CLEAN and tidy and thatâs what matters most. Well done Rubyâs you are doing well!

We made a big mistake ordering starters AND a main course today as both were very generous serves! Service was friendly and fast and our lunch (piri piri chicken wings and nachos for starters, fish and chips and chicken escallop with champ and pepper sauce) we really good. Price including a pint was very reasonable too.

Located: Larne Leisure Centre. A warm welcome awaits you at the Prom Café where our delicious food and drinks can be enjoyed overlooking a beautiful sea view.
Ideal choice. Fantastic food with sea views of the promenade, passing ferry and sea. Plenty of options for breakfast, both traditional and modern. There was everything from a sticky bun, avocado, bacon and sourdough and eggs benedict to an Ulster fry and porridge and berries. Great coffee and hot chocolate too. From a previous visit I recall the lasagne and the chips as being outstanding.

Today we thought we would have lunch at the Silver Lounge, many years ago it was a favourite place to eat. But we got lazy and had not gone that far along the street lately but today we were really pleased that we did. We ordered a fry and soup and a sandwich with tea. They do a great fry there and the vegetable broth and freshly made chicken sandwich really hit the spot. From memory they were always well known for a great fry and fish and chips. The service was very good and staff were pleasant and friendly. Will be going back soon.

Friends and I booked a table at Billy Andyâs this weekend but we heard that the bar restaurant also had live traditional music on Saturday afternoons so we came early to experience a live session. The music was simply amazing. Musicians drifted in with their instruments all afternoon with their fiddles, penny whistles, banjos, harps, bodhráns and even uilleann pipes. We sat at the bar all afternoon soaking-up the great tunes, songs and atmosphere until our table in the restaurant was ready. Even at dinner the distant music from the bar added to the evening. The food was stunning, just faultless. Again the service was perfect, the restaurant manager and our waitress Sharon looked after our every need. I God-willing, I will definitely return to Billy Andyâs. We all had such a great day. Attention all other bar owners - A much-needed research field-trip to Billy Andyâs is needed. Go and see how a county pub restaurant should be run.
