4 Seasons Palóc Bistorant - Palóc and Mátra tastes blended into a gastronomic adventure in the kitchen-atelier led by our award winning chef, special drinks at the café-bar, cosy atmosphere, fresh ingredients, Mátra wines. High-tech in appearance and proc
Although we adore the Mátra, it was pretty tough to find a quality restaurant around - until now. Paloc Bistorant has a great variety of unique meals, our choice was a wonderful trout plate. Very central, delicious food and nice, friendly atmosphere. We'll surely come back with our family!

modest, family run restaurant and guest house (pension) in the heart of matra hill forests. the neighbourhood is absolutely charming. the st hubertus has huge variety of foods including fish and game. the kitchen is traditional, with hungarian and regional dishes. we ordered game stew with 'sztrapacska' (potato noodles) and deer cooked in thick vegetable stew. both were delicious! big up to the chef! i totally recommend this place

After a nice excursion in the woods we got hungry and entered the restaurant where we have been welcomed and found a really warm atmosphere. The serviec was quick and excellent and so were the food and drink. All seven of us enjoyed it and I can definitely recommend it to everyone. One "important" thing, toilets are nice and clean also!

We used to spend a lot of time in the Matra mountains, but never ventured to try this restaurant before. But finally it came: it was a lazy afternoon, we were looking for a place to have a late lunch and the timing looked perfect to visit this place. Boy, this was something remarkable.Since it was a weekday afternoon, I'm not sure if the place was open at all, because the owner/chef was doing some maintenance works alone on the terrace - but he was so kind and friendly and invited us to the terrace, that we stayed.Although there is a menu, on that day (maybe due to the half-opened state) he only had a very limited selection available, what he quickly listed for us while tossing the drilling machine away.We ordered a menu: some slovak style sour soup (with cabbage and strapachka) and some roast meat with .. well, strapachka. Since it was a menu, chocolate crepes were also included in the price. He went to the kitchen and while he prepared all these, we had some time to inspect our surroundings.Oh.There is quite a view from the terrace, but first you have to overcome the terrace itself. If you have ever been to a ruin pub, you might have an impression what it feels like, but it is definitely more than that. You just can't stop discovering all the finest details of this masterpiece of DIY. It looks like a dwelling in a shanty town, but one feels the love that handcrafted every single part of it. I repeat: you just can't stop discovering all the finest details. The food was simple but delicious and barely cost anything. After paying, we had a chat with the owner/chef, that reassured me that he's a great and determined host. The unprecedented and unexpected rage of DIY definitely made our day. I'm sure we will visit them again later when it is fully open since inexpensive correct food and crazy surroundings are always a must see.

We had a nice meal at the outdoor tables. The chosen local foods were tasty, the portions were more than enough, the price was really reasonable. The staff was kind and helpful. I'm sure we will visit again!

This is quite the typical local village restaurant. As it is stated below, this is not a fine dining experience, but if you are looking for a cozy place with a nice service, offering hearthy dishes, then give it a try.
This is a restaurant run by an old couple, the mother cooks, the father serves and sometimes their son also helps when he is not away "in the town".They offer Hungarian and Slovakian specialities. This is not a fine dining restaurant but you should expect that the meals taste like home cooked. It really feels like the grandma's food, with all her heart in it.I think this is one of the best restaurants in the area although there is no strong competition. It is worth to visit them if you stay in the village or just stop here for a lunch/dinner.
