Very nice surronding. Thats about it yet.First at check-in hardly noticed, then after pressing the buzzer, a waiter come along advise us to wait. Room nice, clean and cousy. Shower same, however the shower can not be adjusted as some piece broken of. If you a coffee adict like us, bad news. No coffee before 7, and even that is not our esspresso. Hm.. big mistake. The breakfest includes only 1 coffee, so wait and see.Coming back to more opinion after breakfest.

On our last business trip we`ve been here with some colleagues from Eger. The location is very nice, the menue great, the portions huge and the dishes are so tasty. Also the service was good and the menue also available in English. Please be aware of the huge portions and just go to this restaurant if you are very hungry :)

FÅtér Cafe Restaurant is located in the Main Square of Eger.
Nice restaurant in good location near the square. We had the steak, the fried chicken in cheese with mash (delicious and plentiful - real comfort food), and two pizzas for the children, plus starters prawns and tuna salad. The tuna salad was excellent, as were the main courses - husband particularly praised the steak. Our waitress spoke English because she had lived there for a couple of years, and was really helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed the food, and didn't think it was too badly priced given the top location (although probably not cheap as Hungary is not an expensive place to eat if you are used to UK prices). All in all a good experience. Was a bit put off initially as when we went in to ask for a table for four we were indicated to go inside with a fairly curt nod of the head, but appreciate that we do not speak Hungarian and some of the staff may not speak English, so the usual discussion is always going to be a bit cut short/odd.

The restaurant is hidden in beautiful park but for sure it's worth to find it. You have to come hungry, cause portions are quite huge. Lot of grilled meats, delicoius pickles and very good wines/beers. The interior is stylized for a medival castel, maybe a little bit too dark for me, but food and service were excellent.

My wife surprised me with a dinner here - great experience! The waiters are exceptionally caring with the customers and the food is really special. I had shrimp for starters then a a wild boar ragout, all was perfect. And ask for a wish recommendation, it's a must here!

We always return here when in Hungary. We love the view of the castle and the main square, the friendly service, and that they cater to all dietary requirements, if asked. The staff speaks a number of languages too.But the best part is the food - it is so good!!They have a vast range of options, representing Hungarian and European kitchen perfectly. My favourite this time was the smoked hock slices with potato dumplings but I can strongly recommend any dishes there. We have always had a five star experience here.

Had a coffee and dessert on the terrace. Service is fast and helpful if you have any questions or special requests. On previous visits, the food was always visually outstanding. The cheesecake I got was on a stone slab. Only downside to this is that it was impossible to scrape off the berry jam. Also, the English menu is broken, with literally dozens of errors. Someone with a strong grasp of English should definitely fix all the mistakes. Other than that, I love this restaurant and look forward to visiting again next time I travel to Eger.

This place is listed as a hotel, but I could not find a separate listing to review their restaurant.
We ate here last night. Every where else was booked and another restaurant gave us the recommendation. They were right, good traditional Hungarian food at a great price. We ate for 40$ US, two drinks, mineral water, two soups, two salads, one entry and dessert. The wild boar with purple potato gnocchi and red cabbage, our main, was fabulous and plenty for two. The pickles side salad also stood out as did the venison goulash (which is more like soup). They had my favorite dessert panna cotta with fresh raspberries. It was super busy and the waiter was working hard but the service was good. Then add the people watching and live music sitting outside looking at the Dobo square, a perfect vacation moment.

We had lunch with daughter, son in law, granddaughters and husband and I. The food was simply excellent and the service outstanding. They couldn't do enough for us and particularly the grandchildren. Anything we asked was possible. The meals were superb and the location in the castle was just magnificent. Not too pricey either and especially for the prime location.Highly highly recommend a visit!!!

Our Restaurant, the Macok Bistro and Wine Bar is a jaunty and youthful restaurant where international dishes are presented in local style with wine specialties which can be found only in the cellars of enthusiastic collectors. Our Restaurant is located in
Great setting right under the castle. Bright and modern space. Food was also excellent. Wine amazing. However, we did have issues with the service. I don't think it is down to the waiter to comment on what we order and how much we drink... It was a long wait for the food as well. Some of the staff seemed to avoid us presumably because they were not too confident about their English. Next time we will try a cheaper place as we didn't think that the service was up to the caliber of the restaurant. There is a wine shop on site as well.
