Located in an ancient cellar inside the Scots Hotel, St. Urban Wine Cellar, operated by two enthusiastic Sommeliers, offers a wonderful ambiance, lighting and music with a handpicked, seasonal wine menu consists of the best and most exciting Israeli wine
St. Urban Wine Bar delivered a very enjoyable wine tasting experience during my recent visit to Israel. First of all, it was held in their wine cellar, which lent a very pleasant atmosphere. Secondly, I enjoyed every single wine that they featured, which is very unusual. Typically, I only like a couple of wines out of six tasted. If you're in the area, be sure to drop by and sample their delicious selections of locally grown and blended wines!

My go to restaurant when in this area. Food is good, staff is pleasant. Lots of choices, and there's something for everyone. Needing gluten free food, I love this place. They are knowledgeable about gluten free and offer gluten free buns. Personally, i don't care for the buns, but it is a nice option. I have eaten here probably a dozen times, and never once gotten sick. Family loves the onion rings - if you order it , order the appetizer onion rings, not the one that comes with the hamburger- it's totally different, and worth the trip just to come for them. Great place to go.

Pizza and pub. One of just few places opened at evening time around. They have chef special pizza and make your own based on margarita and plenty of topings available. We were two, and hardly ate one pizza. Prices are common. Good service. Nice athmosphere.

Stumbled upon this place while reading reviews on Trip Advisor. I decided to go this afternoon for lunch and coffee. I brought my trunks to go swimming but after eating lunch, I decided not too. I paid 40NIS to get in and then ordered a salad with fries. The waitress/bartender was very helpful in helping me decide. At one point, I believe one of the owners came to say hello. Very lovely lady who I had a small chat with...she ended up giving me a cup of Turkish Coffee on the house. I had to fight with her to pay...but in the end, she won as she smiled and walked away. I wanted to say goodbye to her, but she stepped away. The place is setup beautifully and I could see there was a mix of locals and tourists there. The music was very chill...sort of a deep house relaxed vibe. I would certaintely go back as the food and the service was top notch.

The highlight of our dining experiences in Israel on this trip was the discovery (by local recommendation of Amir Ben-Yehoshua) of ON THE RIVER. Weâve been to the popular Yardinet baptismal site on the Jordan River as it flows out of the south end of the Sea of Galilee. But when the baptismal area shuts down at 5:00 PM and the gift shop at 6:00, the northern entrance opens and ON THE RIVER opens up from 6 PM to 5:00AM! Great food, service & unbeatable atmosphere watching the Jordan River flow by. The bread was warm, food was excellent & total bill about $60US

On our way up to the Hermon for the weekend, we stopped at an enchanting brewpub, called the Galil Brewery, located on Kibbutz Moran, near Karmiel, surrounded by the scenic mountains of the Lower Galilee. Although it was 10:00 in the morning and the brewpub didnât officially open until 12:30 p.m., the owner graciously came over (he lives nearby on the kibbutz) and opened up to give us a tour of the brewpub. Perhaps he might not have if we werenât with Israelâs best-known English-language beer blogger. We viewed the cooking vats, sampled the beer selection, viewed the scenic mountains from their rustic outdoor patio, and last, but not least, each couple bought a 6-pack to help us âsufferâ through our weekend stay in Swiss-style chalets in the Hermon Mountain (see my review of the Rimonim Neve Ativ Hotel). The winning beer â by far â was their Belgian Triple. Even the wife enjoyed that one. The brewpub, in addition to where they actually make their beers is also a very cozy, friendly, inviting, and pretty pub/restaurant which ONLY serves Israeli boutique brewery beers. You donât like their beer, they offer a large selection of other Israeli craft beers. The owner claimed that by spreading the word, they are helping the market and thus helping themselves. We didnât get a chance to sample any of their food, but if the food is anything like their beer, this is a place I would like to return to in the future during their normal hours and enjoy everything they have to offer!
