Gura Humorului (Romanian pronunciation: [ˌɡura huˈmoruluj]; Hebrew and Yiddish: גורה חומורולוי - Gur’ Humuruluei or גורא הומאָרא - Gur' Humura; German and Polish: Gura Humora) is a town in Suceava County, north-eastern Romania. It is situated in the historical region of Bukovina. Gura Humorului is the seventh largest urban settlement in the county, with a population of 12,729 inhabitants, according to the 2011 census. It was declared a town in 1904 and it became a resort in 2005. The town administers the former village of Voroneț (which became a neighborhood), site of Voroneț Monastery.

I really like enjoying my holidays, but this place ruined my night. The waitress here was rude and messed up our order twice, that s not acceptable. Let s not talk about the food... horrible by all means. Surelly i will not come here again and i do not recommend any of you to eat there

In June 2018 I traveled for 1 week from Bucharest to North-West of Transyvania, Bucovina, Neamt & Brasov. From Bistrita to Bucovina we stopped in Gura Humorului for one night. The city is very quite and welcoming with its churches, monuments, museums and restaurant. I had dinner at Lions, a traditional restaurant located near city center on the main road. The grilled trout was escuisite with the polenta and sour cream. Hmmm...please try the local 'papanasi'...and your will never forget the indulging food and the city.

Best traditional Romanian food!! Very authentic, the staff is incredible and friendly, the scenery is dreamy and with the risk of repeating myself, the food is out of this world!! Highly recommended is an understatement!!

We dined here twice, and I've tasted quite a few dishes as you can see from the pictures. None has disappointed.Large, well rather huge, portions of everything. Rich traditional soups served with warm bread and all the bits on the side such as pickled chilli and sour cream.Soft baked ribs with some of the best wedges, local ceps mushrooms in a creamy sauce, fresh trout and exceptionally good meatballs. The wine selection is good as well, and you can always go for the house vine.Service was very good, fast, courteous and with a large smile.The restaurant is clean, lovely decorated and quality is all around.The river view from the terrace is also nice and there is plenty of space outside and inside with ample parking.I might add some more photos later on as I'm sure we'll visit again soon.

We had two days in GURA HUMORULUI. Looking in the list of recommandations, we have found this place as a good one, Therefore, we have entered for lunch. To be honest; I cannot understand what is so special! It is a fast food place with same food like every fast food place. Not so tasty ut cheap. The desert looks and taste a bit better but it is still not the best in the town

You could almost taste the stream, the fish seemed so fresh. We also enjoyed several traditional dishes, and the servings were huge. Tomatoes so sweet, better than Jersey, which I never though possible. Chuc lemon was the Romanian shandy which I loved having, and the female wait staff was fantastic (the men were pretty slow but the women hustled, yet never hurried you either.)

We visited La cognac in Bucovina for dinner which was recommended by our host.The place which is also a pension was really nice situated in the wood and the back terrace in which we dined had great view towards it.Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked.The waitress discouraged us from ordering one more plate that we initially planned to order by telling us that dishes are big and she was right! Hopefully next time we will stay there too as the pension looked very promising!Dear Giota,Thank you for your kindly words. The restaurant is very cozy for a mountain club.Besides, you are "surrounded" with familiar atmosphere. I simply love the dishes. I regularly go there, for 3 years now, and the food quality just gets better and better. I prefer traditional food, my wife fish, while the kids love their pasta and pizza. Everything is just delicious. To conclude, I simply cannot recommend the place enough.

This meal stood out as well cooked and well presented. My chicken soup was excellent as was the roast chicken with a mashed potato and carrot stack and a lettuce salad. My dessert of walnut parfait was delicious . Service was excellent. When I return to Gura O will definitely eat here.
