Lanser's on Main serves exquisite home-styled Italian and French food with an ambience to match. Weâre open from 11:00 â 21:30 every day, except Sundays. Weâre always looking forward to welcoming you.
It all started well. The interior looked fun, quirky and arty and the chef/owner was friendly and hands-on. The starters were all delicious - our group had the fish cakes, springbok carpaccio and fried haloumi. For mains the T-bone was beautifully done and the pesto pasta good. My porcini risotto, however, was far too rich and porridgy and the pork belly was miles too sweet. I want to recommend to the owner that he adds a few healthier alternatives to the menu. Many modern patrons will take issue with all the rich food, fried starches and highly sugared items. The service was slow and rather absent. Would I go back? Probably not. Thank you for taking the time to post your review, hannetjieeWe're so glad you enjoyed the personal and hands-on service of Lanser's on Main. Our goal is that all of our guests enjoy a relaxed evening with tasty classic Bistro food. For us it's always about the full experience. We're sorry that didn't translate all the way through for you. Thank you for your feedback on food. It's always important to hear from our guests. I am sorry we didn't have an opportunity to chat about your thoughts on the evening. I love chatting with guests about their meals, especially if there's something that doesn't agree with their expectation.Friday evening was a difficult night with a Tenant Opening Party that was going on in the parking lot (we had nothing to do with that). It was noisy and we did have to put out a few fires with regular guests frustrated on the night with the lack of parking. If our attention was lacking, I do apologise.--Lanser

At La Madeleine we invite you to savour the wonderful world of bistronomy where classic French and Belgian cuisine de terroir country recipes are combined with high skill bistronomic techniques at affordable prices.
I had high expectations for this much raved about French restaurant. My Crab bisque starter was far too salty and my main course which was Lamb Shank had no flavor. This was by far the least favorite Lamb Shank Iâve ever had. My husband had the mushrooms in puff pastry for his starter and the Slow Roasted Beef Shirt Rib as a main... he said it was divine and full of flavor. I wish I had what he had! The restaurant was also very noisy and it was difficult to hear what anyone at our table was saying. Staff are very friendly.

We went this evening for the first time. We really loved the overall atmosphere, the candles and fireplace were beautiful, as was the architecture. Unfortunately, the food really missed the mark. Everything from the amuse bouche (which tasted like flavored mayonnaise) to the starters and main course were seriously disappointing. I had the French onion soup, it tasted burnt, as well as the Waldorf salad which was also just more mayonnaise. My husband had the kudu, he had to saw through it with his knife because it was so tough. The service was also very slow and inattentive, we had to flag down our server several times. Overall, it cost about twice as much as Black Bamboo, Kream, or Pachaâs, with very little to recommend it.

We found the restaurant via tripadvisor. The setting was beautiful and there were lots of interesting spots for photographs. It was a chilly morning and the restaurant had little blankets to warm your legs when sitting outside. The food was very tasty. a Visit is higly recommended.
