Lovely venue & friendly waiters but they need to get their staffing levels right to cope with demand when the Orpheum cinema is holding events.... a packed night with only 2 staff in the kitchen is asking for trouble! We ordered share plates that only really needed assembling, but waited around 50 minutes before being served the first 2 dishes and then another 20 minutes the the remaining 2 to arrive. The only cooked dish we ordered (cauliflower) was tasteless and clearly had not been cooked as described on the menu. The waiter was extremely apologetic and took some money off our bill but we did not enjoy any of the food as we had to bolt it down & the prices are city prices at a local restaurant so we walked out feeling a bit ripped off. A shame :-(Hi Okorbut,My apologies. It was a very busy night and we got caught out.80% of the guests we served that night had not made a reservation.We had extra staff of for the bookings we had, but it was clearly not enough. Staffing a restaurant is a bit of an educated guess at times. We need to staff according to the bookings as Cremorne is not an area with high foot traffic and most nights the bookings dictate how busy we are, Orpheum events or not.$69 for 3 courses is a great deal we offer 7 days a week. If cost is an issue, we also have a bar menu which is available on request.You guys seemed really nice and I had hoped the significant discount you were given would have smoothed things over. We are a small family business and guests leaving our establishment underwhelmed in any circumstances is not what we strive for. I hope you will give us another chance to show you what we are all about.Apologies again.Tony

Balcon is a classy Tapas And Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Sydney. The menu was certainly well thought out and the food presentation was excellent. There is no value for money here and not much change for $100 + / headThere is nothing wrong with this restaurant but for me the food was say so and I wouldnât go back here based on the cost. There are better restaurants around with out spending so extravagantly

It's sort fo hidden. If you don't know that it's in a small alley there are chances you will not find it. When we entered the bar, the first thing that hit was music which transports you to another era straight away. The ambiance is fantastic! It's like you have time traveled into the 1920s, the music, the decor, the servers in their unique attire (all had different looks but1920s theme going on), the lighting all serve the purpose of transporting you to the 20's. They have a live singer too. It was jam-packed and there was not a single table or even a spot to stand was available. But we got lucky within 10 minutes and got a spot on a small standing table. The cocktails are great I tried a couple and all were around $20. My favorite was Mercy Me. Whatever food we tried was also good. If you don't get a table then it might be a little troublesome, as me personally I don't like holding my drinks all evening long I need a spot (especially in an over crowded bar). My suggestion is to keep an eye on one of the standing tables and grab it quickly if someone is about to leave. That's what we did.Overall, we have loads of fun. It was a fun night. I would go there again for sure.

Wow! Wow! Wow! What I thought would be a dull meeting on a Saturday turned out to be an amazing lunch. Put the meeting to the side ... the food at Firefly was absolutely phenomenal! Perfect for sharing (even with a client) ... and even for a vegetarian. Amazing and delicious and the service was great too! Sitting outside and people watching was an added bonus! The zucchini fries, the trout, and the arancini balls were fantastic and the watermelon and haloumi dish was on another level! I will be back!
