Bakeries are little on the expensive side but pretty delicious tho. Place was clean and quiet, overall I can recommend eating here.

The owner is really kind. You will feel like a family. Joe knows a lot about Batak Culture and Tradition. He will tell you good places to see in Samosir Island and around Lake Toba. The food are really delicious. Don't miss it!!. Just try before you pay.

Nice restaurant with good authentic national food.
Leo's Restaurant offers a rather limited menu which does at least include some popular Indonesian and Western favourites. You can get nasi goreng, chicken and vegetable curries and chips. In other words, there's nothing too imaginative on offer. However, at least the Beer Bintang is cold.On the down side, the prices are a little high for this sort of fare. Worse yet, a surprise 10% percent tax was added on the menu, which was mentioned nowhere on the menu. Usually places like this don't collect tax. It's usually only star hotels or upmarket chain restaurants which add it on. In any case, it should be mentioned on the menu. Stinging customers with surprises isn't a good way to win repeat business.

We ate here a few times, both dinner and breakfast. Location is near our guest house. The fried rice, pancakes, vegetables, drinks were all good. We didn't enjoy the mini lobsters so much. Owner was friendly and came and chat with us, even offered us bananas and some healthy herbal drink. We had a very nice view of the lake while enjoying the food. Prices were cheap and food was generally good.

We have visited Maruba restaurant for three years. Ita, the owner and chef, meets the guests friendly and with the best service. We have mostly eaten her special Batak dishes and regard them as one of the very best options on the island. Her lobsters are also delicious, a good choice for a celebration dinner. It is very pleasent to sit facing the lake, and see the lightning of Parat while the evening comes. This year the Passionfruit icecream was new on the menue, a must try. Catherine and Roger, Sweden.

Come here again since 2017. Always crowded especially on weekend. Have to be more patient when you come here on weekend. You will not be disappointed with the taste. I think Jenny's Restaurant still the best in Samosir. Pizza, Pancake, Fried Pork, Sweet and Sour Pork, Winer Schnitzel, Fried Chicken Sauce, Grilled Fish still the best for me. Bravo Bang Rinto Manurung and Kak Jenny

This is a little cafe about 5 minutes walk from Hotel Carolina, Tuk Tuk, Samosir, Indonesia. It was the highlight of my recent trip to Lake Toba (apart from the lake) and deserves some publicity. Doesn't have a website.
I walked past this quaint place a few times and always noticed plenty of customers eating there. Finally, I decided to try it out myself and ordered the Sak Sang (pork with spicy gravy) upon recommendation. The pork was tender and extremely flavourful. Unfortunately, when I wanted to sample their other dishes on a Sunday, the restaurant was closed. Take note not to visit on a Sunday !
