Things to do in Kempen
Frühstück Mittagstisch Baguettes
I ordered a pizza with salami and a beer, then sat outside to enjoy the nice weather. Beer was delivered at once and the pizza was not far behind. The service was great, the beers was cold and the pizza was delicious. No complaints at all..

This is the best pizza in town! Rustica and quattro formaggi are my personal choice. The service is very friendly and fast. And the pizzas are made according to a traditional recipe - that's why they are sooooo tasty. NOTE 1: They DO NOT have a delivery service. NOTE 2: The are closed on Tuesdays.

Being from Manhattan NYC, where there is a pizza joint on every other block, I guess I've learned to be picky about pizza. This lovely little place in a small town in Germany does not disappoint!Being family-run, Mauricio, Fina and Anna will always greet you warmly (and after but a couple of visits by name!), and they make some of the best Pizza I've had in a long time! Not to be missed are their fresh and creative salads, great pasta and meat dishes, as well as a nice variety of Red and White Wines as well as Beers. I haven't been disappointed once during my many visits! Tell them Stan sent you! :)Buon appetito!

If you ever are in Kempen, definitely stop by for dinner! You won't regret it! My wife and I have been there dozens of times alone and with friends and have never been disappointed. Great food, friendly service and good wines to make it all even better! :) We had our wedding dinner there 2 years ago as well. There aren't too many places in the world where one can have a window seat to games of tennis being played on both inside and outside courts either! :) Highly recommended!

We arrived on a Sunday night when the Christmas fair seemed to be coming to a close so many of the restaurants were either full or just closing (at 1930!). The restaurant was busy and we know why - the food is really delicious and good value for money. There are lots of wines by the glass - handy when you are driving! There is a mix of pizzas (stone oven), pastas, meats and fish so something for everyone. The atmosphere is nice and the staff attentive. We would go back again.

One of the things that makes this Restaurant special is it's location on the corner of the big square (Buttermarkt) in Kempen. I went here with a work colleague for evening meal and we dined at one of the outside tables to enjoy the last of the day's sunshine. Entertainment was provided by 2 street musicians playing a selection of tunes on Violin and Accordion, this just added nicely to the relaxed atmosphere. The meals were both well presented, delicious and service from the Restaurant staff was polite, friendly and punctual. I have dined here several times before, both inside and outside, and I will carry on returning here.

So I actually went here two nights in a row.The carpaccio I ordered as a starter uses good ingredients, nice oil, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, proper filet steak meat. However, it tasted salty ! Tried the oil on its own, alright. Then the meat, alright. So it's been seasoned with salt, very weird and never experienced this before !Main dish steak with mushrooms was very tasty, as were the rosemary seasoned potatoes. However, the salad was really salty, again I can't understand why you would like to season a salad with salt ?I had to say something about this, as they definitely use good ingredients and prepare nice food.Luckily the owners were very open to my comments, and the salad was replaced immediately. As we talked about it, they told me it's what most Germans want, as they typically asked for salt in the past. If I were them, would put salt on the table, but definitely not over-salt their dishes, such a shame.Liked the Barbera d'Alba wine and good espresso !Second night I returned and everything was perfect. Very tasty and tender american steak, nice ruccola, Parmigiano-Reggiano and aged balsamic, accompanied by homemade green colored noodle pasta. Yummy.Got a very smooth and tasty grappa after the meal, even though I'm not really a fan of grappa, I could tell this was good quality. Will definitely return when visiting Kempen again.
