We wanted lunch before heading home and chanced on the Resturant. We found a gem. Excellent pizza and my steak was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful with good English. A wonderful lunch.

Had pizza at this restaurant, which appears to be relatively new. Good meal for a good price. Outdoor seating was nice.

Real Italian restaurant in the typical laid back Italian style. Friendly waiter and an excellent pizza-baker. Had the minestrone which was fresh but could have done with a bit more salt. Afterwards I had the house pizza, this was well topped and had the perfect thin crust. A lot of Italians living in Duisburg eat here as I only heard speaking Italian. Try!

Visiting Vapiano @ Duisburg was a novelty. Having no experience with the concept (order anything from the menu whilst waiting at the counter for it to be freshly maid) the food, experience and ambiance where catchy. For sure it is appealing to some whereas others might not like having to stand in line for ordering and overviewing the meal-preparing process, but it was nice to experience it and it was great to taste it. Since my kids decided to order their own, our cues weren't the same. My kids don't speak any German at all but were greatly aided by a very approachable and helpful staff. This for sure aided in the scoring. What also helped was the great food and the tasty wine served, making it a near perfect diner experience. We paid around â¬80,- for starters, anti-pastas, pastas, drinks and wine and coffee (just for me). Sound fair to me. Downsides; indeed one could be standing for a while. Lighting matched ambience but could do with some more Lux.Pro's: experience, food, cooks, staff. Bonus: the area in which it is located, great setting.

We were visiting family in Erkelenz and they suggested this place. Wow are the pizzas big. This is not your typical German or Italian pizza. Somebody here has visited the US, but these were considered personal pizzas and they more than covered the plate. The crust was just right and the toppings were outstanding. Also, if you have children they have a play station for them to try out their pizza crust making skills.Ciao, grazie mille for your great feedback! <3 We´re happy to read, that we convinced you with our concept. And yes, your guess was right! There is a minimum amount of love in every recipe ;-)Kind regards, your L'Osteria Team
