If you don't mind the interior, which makes an impression of unchanged since the 80s, Zagreb is a good place to try some grilled/fried meat and fish dishes. A variety of traditional (like ÄevapÄiÄi or pljeskavica) meat is offered, together with rice and/or fries. The dishes were good and the portions quite large. Fair price for all that.

My wife's family is from Croatia so I was happy to find that this was the restaurant attached to my hotel. It was almost as good as the home cooked food we have had when we visited her family. Nothing is good as lovingly, expertly homecooked food so this is as high a praise as I can give a restaurant/

The owner, Mario, is a very friendly guy and will make you feel like you're at home in his restaurant. I've visited the place for the first time back in August 2018 and I was hooked, not only the food is amazing, but the staff is very professional and will take the time to make sure that you're getting only the best.I definitely recommend the place for a visit even if the location is not easily accessible, being almost out of town, but neighbors will have better luck in this regard.

I travelled extensively in Yugoslavia before "the troubles" and loved the people, the country and the food. My wife ate many years ago when she lived in Dusseldorf and said the food was really good. They used to call it the dustbin lid because portion sizes were very large. We went for dinner and I am pleased to report my expectations were exceeded. The menu was groaning with Balkan delicacies. After delicious starters my wife had the grilled liver which was immense and I tried the plescavica (excuse the spelling) which was superb and I was pleased to find that ajvar was availbale. We sat outside and the place was crowded. Service was immaculate and the atmosphere superb. We finished with a couple of good slivovices (again excuse spelling) and the bill was most reasonable. We have a few must go to restaurants in this part of Germany and place is most definitely on the list.
